So, have had photos taken and for sale sign goes up next week...hope we are doing the right thing. Nipped into the building society to make an appointment with the mortgage advisor. Despite being free every morning and most saturdays, the earliest appointment was on the 1st June. Really not impressed, hope to have sold by then.
In theory it should be fine, we only want to borrow the same as we already owe, and have low LTV ratio. OH also starts new job on monday, so no longer just self employed, and i am sure we could borrow on just my salary anyway. But would be nice to have that confirmed before we leap.
If worst comes to worst, at least i have dodgy mortgage advisor brother to arrange something for us!
also waiting for payday. getting 1% payrise, but statutory pension contribution gone up, so not sure how that is going to play out. And my boss said our tax codes have changed for some reason, so will have to suss that out too.. mortgage 2 87,000 due 51,686.76 at july 2013, but then:new home and remortgage ... £101065.43:eek: now 74k

got my wages in today, but havent seen my pay slip, so not sure actual figures. But there is £400 to put into saving pot (rather than op). I have surveyor coming roung this morning and that is £620 for a home report, so will need to keep cash around and not overpay yet.
drove past our dream house and there was a car on the drive yesterday...it has been empty since last year - maybe someone else was veiwing it? I know not to get my hopes up...whats for me will not go by me, etc...but really like that house:o. mortgage 2 87,000 due 51,686.76 at july 2013, but then:new home and remortgage ... £101065.43:eek: now 74k

more overtime today, was a pain cos estate agent was coming this morning to measure up, but my dad arrived to let her in. he almost went home again as didn't recognise the place - it's looking so tidy! The photos look great - almost dont want to move now!
OH started a new job yesterday and it went well, he was excited to have people to talk too - got a bit lonely running his own business , he's a sociable chap and likes to meet people so enjoyed it. best bit will be seeing a wage come in at end of month that he doesn't have to deduct all the expenses for first. he still has a few clients he is going to keep on and do some work for on self employed basis, but he is glad not to be chasing work any more. :j. mortgage 2 87,000 due 51,686.76 at july 2013, but then:new home and remortgage ... £101065.43:eek: now 74k

so usual payment and overpayment today and the balance is down to £52,166.64. Will try to put some more in later this month, but need to save some too.
And have a busy month, going to visit a few old freinds next weekend, then off to Benidorm to see our girl. got pub quiz tonight, and was talked into going to bingo party night on saturday with girls at work. June is busy too with a hen night to organise and a family wedding...it's like a leaky tap at the moment.
Oh yes, and house going onto market..... mortgage 2 87,000 due 51,686.76 at july 2013, but then:new home and remortgage ... £101065.43:eek: now 74k

survey came back and no faults reported, and energy report was a C which is above average for scotland. Had to pay up £625 to allow them to release it, so not a lot of spare cash left, although want to balance under 52k, just not going to happen this month.
Should go on sale today or tomorrow at the latest, wonder if we will have viewers this weekend?. mortgage 2 87,000 due 51,686.76 at july 2013, but then:new home and remortgage ... £101065.43:eek: now 74k

We have 7 viewers today and another one tomorrow. Hope someone likes it enough to make an offer. There is a house in the smae street also up which is empty and used to belong to an old lady, so not sure if it will go first - almost identical, but we have a conservatory and ours is a bit more modern, but more expensive - i guess it depends what people want.
Had a meal out last night at the local italian in town, we used to eat there every friday, but not been for ages. It was £60 but nice to celebrate OH's new job. He was really tired after working all week and then teaching every evening as he still has clients he does't want to let down.
Building society have offered us an earlier appointment next tuesday, they want a copy of our budget so for the first time I did a SOA. Realised that I have no life insurance. We used to have endowment policies which matured last year, so no longer covered. And no more death in service as I work for private employer now, although still pay into NHS pension, so would get a lump sum from that. But not enough to cover the financial loss if I get hit by a bus
Drove very carefully home and organised some insurance immediately. It is another 20 a month, cos of health problems which are stable now, but I will get 70 cashback eventually. And now I can happily drop dead.... mortgage 2 87,000 due 51,686.76 at july 2013, but then:new home and remortgage ... £101065.43:eek: now 74k

Good luck with the viewings today, let us know how they go. I reckon you're right, some people won't want to do the work and will prefer a modern gaff. 8 viewings is a fab start! Now go and put the coffee on and bake some home made breadMortgage starting balance 2011 ... £170k today £1.5k
Savings: £3k
Aim: 100k by Dec 20210 -
what an odd bunch the viewers were...of the 8 viewings we reckon only 3 were genuine potential buyers. One couple came round with a couple of freinds, and spent almost an hour discussing everything. Their house is not even up for sale. Another man asked to use the bathroom and after he'd gone I discovered he had peed all over the seat and brand new towel (and sink) still dry so obviously didn't wash his hands! honestly! if you can't coordinate your pee, then sit down!
Another two came round and wouldn't take part in any conversation, just wondered around whispering to each other - weird:eek:
but nice young couple with 2 little ones, and a lovely lady with some properties already and an other couple all seemed quite keen and ready to buy soon.. mortgage 2 87,000 due 51,686.76 at july 2013, but then:new home and remortgage ... £101065.43:eek: now 74k

I hope you have some success with the viewers - you never really know who is serious and who isn't. One thing that did strike me when you mentioned the other house in the street needing work is that folk might come to see what it could look like by looking at yours. All you need is one serious buyer though so positive vibes:DMortgage OP 2025 £6750/7000Mortgage OP 2024 £7700/7000

Yes, that occurred to us too, skint spice. Its what i would do as a buyer - have a look at the "before" and "after" house, buy the cheaper one and put in the hard work. But last year there were three houses all up for sale at the same time and all sold the same week, so who knows what buyers what? Also it is a bungalow so lots of older couples looking who maybe just want to move in.
Loving the 3 day weekend!. mortgage 2 87,000 due 51,686.76 at july 2013, but then:new home and remortgage ... £101065.43:eek: now 74k
