It depends on what you are sending, where from and where to.
Myhermes and Interparcel are worth a try.
Always check to see if your item is on the couriers banned list.
You will have to pay a bit extra for full insurance.

Personally I would use UPS via Interparcel for peace of mind for such high-value items. From memory it will around £13 with insurance.

As has been said before, if you decide to use MyHermes check their exclusions list, as it is extensive.

For example, all electrical items are not covered (so that would include many common items like laptops, tablets phones etc)

Hermes have now introduced an extra charge, which you are not made aware of until check out. They now charge 51 pence for you to drop a parcel to a parcel drop-off shop or 71 pence to collect it from your door.

A bit puzzled by your posting

The following detailed posting provides the correct total prices, as long as you take the parcel to a drop-off point. I think it's 20p more if you want it collected

    hi,

About the same as any other courier, just assume they are going to use your parcel as a football at some point and pack accordingly. Most delicate and fragile items are excluded from compensation so do check the list of acceptable items carefully.

  • Hi, can anyone please advise me the best and safest way to ship a pair of shoes to Australia?

Buyer is going to pay via paypal invoice so I'll need a reliable postage with tracking, confirmation delivery with signature to cover my back. Also, the shoes are worth £400.

    Dimension of postage about 35cm x 25 cm x 15 cm.

Can anyone please advise and have anyone used Transglobal? Or should I go for the couriers direct to save me the headache?

    Advice much appreciated thanks

What will the parcel weigh? International works on a combination of dimensions and weight.
  • Hi, i'm looking to send a parcel to USA (pheonix). It is about 2kg, 30cmx15cmx20cm, value < £20. I don't need a speedy delivery, ideally it would arrive within the next month. All of the sites I looked at offer delivery within 2-3 days, and costs ~£30. Any suggestions?
    Thanks

If it's under 2kg Royal Mail is the cheapest. But be precise as when you get quotes knowing the true weight is important. Weigh it and be sure you are looking at the right figures. But no one will beat Royal Mail for under 2kg.
