I hadn't used MyHermes before so thought I would give them a go and booked two collections.

    PARCEL 1
Day 1 - Collection booked for today but the courier did not turn up!
Day 2 - No phone number so did webchat who wrote they would "pass onto their investigations team" and advised me to wait 24 - 48 hours for a response. Courier collected.

    PARCEL 2
Day 1 - Collection booked for today but the courier did not turn up. Emailed them.
Day 2 - They replied parcel will be collected today but the courier did not turn up.
Day 3 - Guess what? The courier did not turn up! Webchat wrote they would "pass onto their investigations team" and advised me to wait 24 - 48 hours for a response. I gave up and told them to cancel the order. I had to dispatch the parcel today under Ebay rules and being evening used the only option left which was to use Collect+ at my local Co-op.

    My Hermes. Never again.

I have an international shipment which reached Heathrow two days after being picked up in the far east. It has now been sitting at TNT's depot at the airport for four days but has not moved to the local depot for delivery.

TNT tell me that it has cleared customs and every day inform me that it should be delivered the following day. Again this morning the tracking shows it is still at Heathrow.

I fear that it is now buried at the bottom of a huge pile in a chaotic depot. Is anyone else experiencing this?
  • Just recently MyHermes have let me down. I had several parcels waiting to be collected for over a week, I had to request a refund via paypal. Now they have lost a parcel and I have to wait for 14 days to get the compensation. I appreciate things go wrong from time to time and its how they resolve the issues that count. There customer service leaves a lot to be desired.

Try a message on their FB page, I've had a couple of problems sorted out within hours (their web chat page on the MH site took days to answer).

It seems they have been having problems with collections this week.

Parcel2Go have launched a 1kg delivery service for a fixed price of £2.16.

The £2.16 is the headline figure and does not include VAT.

Also that cheaper service is MYhErmes and with VAT and additional costs for using paypal is only a few pence cheaper than going to MyHErmes direct. You also don't have any insurance at all, not even the standard MyHErmes £25

It is a bit sneaky - but parcel companies do tend to show their headline prices exclusive of VAT

Hermes have just slashed standard compensation from £50 to £25 starting on the 22nd of July.

After doing so much to win customers from royal mail and Collect + they go and hand them right back.
They also exclude damage cover for ANY electrical or electronic items, even if you pay for extra cover.

Is there any way to send internationally a parcel under 1kg cheaper than Royal Mail? We send around 5 parcels a week and currently they cost £8.80 each which for a parcel with a worth of £6.50 is a bit limiting to sending internationally. We usually are sending to Northern Europe, USA, Canada and Aus/NZ.
