    Advice please

Need to get an unwanted TV back to Amazon and all the usual couriers (Parcel Force, TNT etc) clearly state no compensation available for damage, even if extra insurance taken out.

Thoughts/ideas appreciated on how best to move this TV including some sort of insurance so I ensure Amazon refund value when it arrives rather than just tell me they have a box full of damaged TV.

    Many thanks
Have you contacted Amazon? It may be best to get them to organise the return.

    Hi all,

Having spent the best part of 24 hours searching the internet for a small parcel service with international delivery I thought it best to ask.

Due to imminent unemployment, I am trying to research if it will be viable to set up a small enterprise selling items online worldwide. Somebody who currently sells the same items as I would like to is charging £3 for Standard delivery to USA (I used USA as a target zone to get a base figure). The closest I can get is £22. Where am I going wrong?

    My parcel will measure 14cm x 10cm x 3cm and weigh 0.5kg

Anyone have any ideas? and I hope it's ok to ask

    Many thanks
What's the value? If it's under £20, international large letter to USA is £7.45 for the weight and dimensions you've given. You would be covered by a certificate of posting.

That is really useful information as well. The value of the container I quoted is £12 so thats very useful indeed. The most expensive would be £18 but I haven't calculated dimensions for that yet. That's another job for today :)

Cheers for that "Obviously the best !!".

Had to remove the rest of the message because ... "Sorry as a new user you are not allowed to post with links. This is done to stop spammers clogging up the site. Please edit your message below to continue."

Trust this will be let through... after much *** substitution and still MSE is verboten !

    Got through ...

"Obviously the best ..." or any kindly soul who knows for sure, would you know which courier offers insurance for mobilephones? Most, if not all non-business [i.e. private & individual] courier services do not seem to offer insurance for mobile due to ..."Glass and Explosive ..." blah, blah. Have conducted preliminary search but still in the dark.

I think the main thing is to pack it bomb-proof. I doubt you'll find anyone who'll actually cover a mobile.

Other than Royal mail, who seem to want £35ish for the delivery. Crazy prices!

The rainforest people in DE has agreed to accept parcel without insurance other than proof of delivery. Will return via packaging as delivered.

DHL Express wants £73 for £300 insurance. Easy-come was never this Easy-Go. Even for "Banksters".

    Thanks for your help Obviously.
