Hello
Not sure if this is in the right place to post as I don't often use the website but I get the weekly emails from martinsmoneytips.
Last week there was a Parcel2go offer which I used this week. On Monday I tried to send a parcel weighing 3.2kgs to Portugal using Royal Mail but it would have cost nearly £52 with tracking and around £35 without which wouldn't have been worth it so I used the link in the email to try the offer. The price came to £22.55 using UPS plus there was the £10 discount for first time users so I paid £12.55 for this tracked service. I dropped it off at a local drop off point (and there were several to choose from minutes walk from my house) on Tuesday morning. The tracking information was updated every day and the parcel was delivered as promised 3 days later on Friday.
Very impressed with the service and will definitely be using them again! Thank you moneysavingexpert!!!0 -

In the interest of competitive fairness, Interparcel quote £21.76 inc VAT so would need a discount offer to make it viable for me to change couriers.0 -
OK - I have been using clickandsendparcel.com for some time - they are an agent for UPS.
I have had cause to deal with them recently - and their once great customer service is now truly appalling. No answers to emails over a month old (with constant reminders being sent) and completely ignoring you when attempting to use the live chat service.
A series of problems of late has had me looking elsewhere for a UPS agent. One thing that many customers may not be aware of is their policy regarding damage in transit. I quote from their terms & conditions:
Claim for damage to the consignment is invalid if the external packaging is intact, as the internal packaging was not sufficient.
If you are unable to check all parcels when they arrive, you must sign "unchecked" for each.
Packaging or boxes that are clearly damaged on delivery must be noted as "Damaged" by the recipient or any claims are refused. The sender must inform the recipients of these terms and conditions.
So on this I called & spoke to UPS who agreed that almost no UPS driver will wait for the recipient to open and fully inspect a parcel - furthermore they told me that signing for an item 'unchecked' or 'damaged' would make no difference either.
This essentially means that clickandsendparcel.com are making up their own terms & conditions to avoid having to pay out on any damage claim. It makes a mockery of their 'extended cover' which is yet another ruse to make more money from an uninformed customer.

Lots of companies try to go with the:
"If you are unable to check all parcels when they arrive, you must sign "unchecked" for each.
Packaging or boxes that are clearly damaged on delivery must be noted as "Damaged" by the recipient or any claims are refused. The sender must inform the recipients of these terms and conditions."
It's an unfair term and should be ignored, it's up to the carrier to look after parcels properly and for the seller to get them to the customer in one piece."Love you Dave Brooker! x"

Can anyone recommend a decent priced courier for long parcels? Apart from length, they aren't that big or heavy, if you put your thumb and forefinger together, that would be about as big as they get and generally don't weigh over 2kgs.
Some are up to eight foot long, but apart from length, don't take up a lot of space or weigh much. But the carriers that will take them, seem to classify them as huge parcels and charge the earth for them.0 -
Hi,
Looking to send a parcel within UK that allows me to drop-off at a local pick-up point and saves me having to wait at home all day. Due to the size and weight (7.5kg and 273cm dimensions) I can't find a courier company that allows me to do this.
Any ideas?0 -
