Hi all - I usually use the cheap couriers without s problem - however I'm looking for someone who will courier headlights and cover them for damage up to £400 - no one covers headlights though. Can anyone recommend someone please?0

The MSE page still says Royal Mail is generally cheapest for <1Kg
I sent a 300g parcel to UK today. Royal Mail quoted £2.80 for second class (no tracking), parcel2go charged me £2.34 for myhermes with tracking. No contest.
Not any more. P2G have upped the drop off service to £2.58. Interparcel are still £2.34 but you now send "at your own risk". All things considered I shall pay the few pence extra and go Royal Mail.0 -
Hi
I just wanted to share my opinion of Interparcel, this is only my opinion but it is based upon my experience -
I arranged to send a parcel to Sweden, I entered my email address and phone number in case of issue. I paid over £22 and thought everything was fine, I later discovered that the parcel had not been delivered. I called interparcel and was told someone would call me back.
No one called back and so I called again to chase, I was now informed that the parcel was being returned to them and that not only had I lost out on the initial charge of £22 but that I would be charged to return the item - no one could advise of the charge
I later received an email stating that I now owe them £34.80 and I quote - "Please arrange payment within the next seven days to prevent your parcel being disposed of. If your parcel is disposed of you are still liable for these return charges." So Interparcel in conjunction with UPS would like to charge me almost £60 without actually delivering my parcel to it's intended destination - in fact it will end up back where it came from.
so a few points -- Interparcel deny that they or UPS should have contacted me or left a note at the delivery point
- They feel it is just to charge me as much as they like without contacting me to return the goods
- They have charged 150% of the outbound cost (nice business if you can get some mug to pay it I guess)
- Interparcel did not return my initial call as promised - they are slow to answer emails but quick to answer Facebook - is it all a false front?
- Interparcel constantly blame UPS yet when I have asked to speak to UPS they refuse to allow me to do this while constantly fobbing me off
In my opinion the company appears to be process driven, has no regard for customer service and feels it right and just to not deliver a parcel yet charge the customer extra for the privilege
So when you send a parcel with Interparcel or UPS just think that you are actually opening yourself up to unlimited additional charges and that given the range of these charges and the additional profit that these profit greedy firms can make they will make sure they charge you as much as they can
BUYER BEWARE - DARE YOU RISK THE UNSPECIFIED AND HENCE I ASSUME POTENTIALLY UNLIMITED CHARGES FROM USING INTERPARCEL / UPS?0 -
I later discovered that the parcel had not been delivered

I always keep an eye on tracking so I can contact the recipient or carrier if there is a problem.
If there is an error in the address the carrier can not be blamed. If they made several attempts to deliver, the tracking info should have flagged up the need to take some action.0 -

I was just checking there, if I were to post a cup which has the dimensions of
11.5cm x 11.5cm x 22.3cm that weighs 235g
it will cost £2.15 standard and if I want it signed for, it would cost £0.85 extra... does that sound about right?
A c/0 envelop that measures 15cm x 21cm x 2cm that weighs about 135g is the same price!
Both services offered by MyHermes0 -
Hi all,
Based on forum recommendations I tried Pharos Parcel for the first time just before Christmas and have just now received a letter telling me that I entered incorrect dimensions on the parcel so they are billing me the excess charge plus £10 administration fee.
Sizes I entered were 116x55x42, UPS's measurements were 117x66x43 which makes it 5cm over the UPS volume limit of length+(2xwidth)+(2xheight) must be < 330cm.
So what was a very reasonable £12 parcel shipment now has a £45 additional charge being applied which is a bit excessive IMHO.
Wonder what other forum members experience are of dealing with this? I can believe that I might have miss-entered 66cm as 55cm but the 1cm variances seem a bit petty.
The letter states that this is all in their terms and conditions that I have agreed to and of course threatens legal action if I don't pay within 7 days. I'm of the view to make a contribution given a mistake on my part with transposing figures.
Anyone else had this situation, and what happened?
ThanksI'd be happier on holiday in Brittany than being at work !0 -
Ask them for a photo of the oversized parcel.
I fail to see how they could take someone to court with no evidence to back up their claims."Love you Dave Brooker! x"
