After being quoted £65 royalmail to send a 4kg parcel for Christmas to my parents in Florida USA, tried transglobal express and I have to say I was more than delighted when they quoted £38 with UPS saver express. I was a bit confused about all the copies of customs paperwork needed but minutes after making the booking someone phoned me and went through it all with me. Anyway dropped it off at a local drop off point on Monday 15th and have been tracking it, it is already in Orlando out for delivery today!!!! Absolutely amazing speedy international delivery.0

Happy to report that the pilloried Yodel, via trakpak from p2g site, took both my NZ-bound family boxes totalling 16+kgs, and they arrived 8 days later. They also re-scheduled without fuss.
Of course, won't know how contents got on en route till later...but v. pleased so far.CAP[UK]for FREE EXPERT DEBT &BUDGET HELP:

Hi everyone,
Tried looking for an answer to this but couldn't find it on the forum. I am hoping to find a courier to take multiple (10-20) packages from a warehouse to my address, however the individual packages will be relatively light (0.5kg maybe less) therefore my overall weight to be carried is about 10kg but comprised of many packages.
Does anybody know if I am liable to pay the weight of each package or just the overall weight, of course the dimensions will also be a factor.
Thanks0 -

simple answer. If the packages arent together. How would you expect to be charged a bulk rate?
You can pallet them and be charged the one price.
If it is individual packages then you will pay per item.0 -

Thanks for the reply, yes I am hoping I can pay a fee to the warehouse to box them together in the most cost effective way in order to make as few packages as possible (in keeping with their dimension requirements). Should work out considerably cheaper0 -
I have worked as a courier. It just depends on the deal you strike and the importance of paperwork. I often got half a van full of parcels - no problem as long as they are clearly labeled a 1 of 10--2 of 10--3 of 10 etc.
It helps if they are distinctively wrapped. Black bin bag type polythene is fairly common, but can mean that that the contents are valuable.
That said I once was loaded with pallets of parcels and on delivery a very disgruntled recipient said "I cannot get that off I told them to send it on a vehicle with a tail lift - You will have to strip it down and repackage them correctly onto my pallets here on the ground." That meant I had to try to sort things out in the back of a van. I got it done in the end and the recipient signed for the delivery.
However when I got back home, I discovered two of the parcels still in the back of my van - as they were some sort of posh diet biscuits I ate them.
On another similar occasion the recipients only piece of equipment available for unloading was a lenght of rope so we balanced the pallet on the tail of the van tied to a tree and I revved the engine, slammed in the clutch and bingo there was the pallet sitting on the ground. [The packages on the pallet were light weight snacks such as crisps]0 -
I used ipostparcels.com, who use ukmail, to send a parcel. Tracking showed as 'carded' but customer said they did not turn up. This was repeated 8 times and in the end parcel was returned to me with 'carded' stickers all over it. I emailed ipost three times to find out what happened but they never replied.0
