If you book collect + you might have a problem as your parcel exceeds their size criteria.

That's what stopped me using that service.
  • Over by 10cm on 2 sides, and under by 10cm on the other. The shop has the discretion to accept or decline an outsized parcel, and I've never been to a shop where they've declined an outsize parcel. Considering the parcel is so little over, the chances of it getting declined are 0. HDNL (the people who deliver the parcel) don't actually care once the shop has accepted it.

It's 12 mile round trip to find this out....I'll have to try it when I'm already passing that way.

When collect+ increased their prices they also increased the maximum size limit
Parcels must not weigh more than 10 kilograms nor exceed dimensions of 50 centimetres x 50 centimetres x 60 centimetres

The size increase is a good move but the price increase is not. When you read their smaller print the to 2kg must still be in a jiffy bag. I've pasted from their terms and conds below.

    6) Parcel Criteria

All Parcels must be Correctly Packaged and have a Label attached.

Parcels weighing less than 2kg must be placed in a jiffy bag or padded envelope.

Parcels must not weigh more than 10 kilograms nor exceed dimensions of 50 centimetres x 50 centimetres x 60 centimetres.

We reserve the right to reject a Parcel at the Relevant Collection Point if the Parcel exceeds the weight or dimensions stated here or there is not a valid Label attached.

Hi, I'm needing a pair of floor standing speakers sent and was wondering who you guys recommend. The dimensions are 108cm x 45cm x 32cm and each weighs 27kg. I was gonna use city link via inter parcel but the feedback here seems to indicate they're pretty poor. I've received a few parcels from them on online purchases and they seem ok. So are they bad for personal users and provide the better service for business account holders?

The service is the same for any user.
If there was a league table of couriers I would not put City Link in the Premiership. The two premiership teams are DHL and UPS IMHO.

When I used City Link for parcels weighing 25kgs the delivery guys complained about the weight. They don't all carry trolleys.

UPS on the other hand are brilliant and I've never had any complaints about their service...or any losses or damages.

As they're such large parcels, I'd look into an awkward item specialist. Try phoning your local Tuffnells depot. Or you local Nightfreight.

Hi, can anyone on here help me? My parcel weighs 2.5kg and measures 53cm x 36cm x 22cm and is going to Barking Essex IG11 area. My problem is Myhermes and Collect+ don't deliver to Barking!! I've checked P2G and Inter for alternatives but everything is too expensive, as is RM. I quoted postage of £5.40 with Hermes in my auction listing but can't find anything near that price. Does anyone know how I can get my parcel to Barking (from Nottm) for a reasonable price?

25 kg is the weight of the mini cement sacks the elff & safety people allow as to carry these days, ie half the old cwt sized sack and a quarter of the 2 cwt grain sacks out grandfathers used to heave about.
Well they should have a trolley, a cheap telescopic sack barrow is about £16. (I paid less)
I don't see how anyone could claim to be a delivery driver without one.

Wrap the speakers very carefully, I have had deliveries from Tuffnell with someone's boot prints on the cardboard packaging, a nice rectangular block makes a good step up.
