  • £170 for me for the month of October!!

After November's payday i'll have smashed through the £77k barrier!!

I'm 2.5 years into my first ever mortgage and have reduced it by nearly £13k in total making it much more affordable on my salary.

Previously it was nearly 5 times my salary, now it's around 4.3 not counting lodger money.

Looking back i took a risk but thanks to mortgage overpayments i've made things far more manageable.

So i have to thank this thread and ones from previous years for that!
    Mortgage 1: May 2012 £90,000 April 2020: £47,000
    Mortgage 2: £270,000😱 Jan 2019 £253,000 April 2020
  • I havent been on in a while as I have been unwell but I cant wait to update for October. It wont be a massive amount but every bit counts :)

I now have final settlement figure from Santander to complete my journey.

16 days to go to Monday 4th November 2013 when we shall be in a position to pay the final overpayment (chunky), final monthly mortgage payment and rip off early settlement charge.

Its been a lot easier being part of this thread over the past 10 months as a great source of encouragement.

I will update further on Monday 4th November 2013 and continue to follow this thread until the end of the year.

    Good luck everyone.

  • I don't think I will get to overpay any more this month, so have filled in the update form with my total of £171.77 for October.

VoucherMan - please can I report an overpayment for October of £200.58, #146

Next month will be extremely tight so the overpayments will be minimal, I'm due £70 from £co which I've got a claim in so if that pays out I'll be able to add that.

    Thanks,
    Emmita

£855.50 overpayment today in branch and in person. :)

I have hit my year end target (revised) with no further over payments due. :T

4th November will mark our final standard mortgage payment along with my early repayment charge (boo).

I suppose I could have settled it all today but I wanted to let Mrs NPU have the pleasure of making the very final payment on the 4th, as she is responsible for the normal payments.

Team effort and all that. ;)
