A bit like robbing Peter to pay Paul but with the home straight in sight, I have worked out that my using a very large chunk of savings, coupled with using my credit card which has no outstanding balance for day to day spends, instead of cash, we should be mortgage free before 15th November 2013.
One very large chunky overpayment still to come and a final settlement figure after 3rd November 2013 and I will enjoy being mortgage free again for the second time in 8 years.
1 month to go, maybe sooner, it depends how quick Santander respond?
Keep up the good work everyone, no matter how small your overpayment.0 -

Thank you
Its been a hard slog, I have gone without so much, hopefully I can make up for it now (soon).
Paying it off 12 years early, at one point the payments were over £305 a month on a heavily discounted rate. It feels pretty good to be almost done. :T0 -
