  • Thanks Lizpaul and Caeraugirl. I still cant work it out. The figures are in my sig. I have a One Account, so just have to repay interest each month. I concentrate on the balance reducing, but cant work out how to translate that into meaningful overpayment figures.......?

    Congrats to Lavenderbees, brilliant result!

Again, big sacrifices to achieve this figure. :o

I am now ahead of my quarterly target. All things being equal, I should be totally mortgage free by end of the year but I am not counting my chickens.
  • Hi
No. 65 reporting at £720 mortgage overpayment for October. I think the next few months they will be a lot lower due to other financial commitments but something will be better than nothing. Have to work extra hard to be more frugal!

Congrats to Lavender Bees - bet you cant wait until the 28th October!!! :)

    xx

Aw thanks folks, it's a lovely feeling to be this close...just had a letter from the BS telling me my fixed rate ends on 29th. Another whole day to wait!! :rotfl:, and they've told me my new monthly payment...oh, I don't think so...:p

Best of luck to Pawlala and Npower User who are powering up the home straight in close contention, too. That's fab news to end the year on :T.

ETA - my last (ever?!) monthly mortgage payment left my account today... Happy Days, indeed...! :j

    Thanks LB

Its not been easy going without holidays (6 years), cars, socializing, or having more fun than you shake a stick at.

In fact it takes well over an hour to walk to and from work and when I am drenched in the rain I sometimes wonder?

I could buy a car but I prefer to get rid of my mortgage as soon as possible and worry about having fun etc after its gone. :)

Almost at journeys end within the next couple of months......

    PS Well done you

Sorry Southerndave, I'm with Scottish Widows and their offset is a mortgage account with a linked savings account. They just deduct the savings balance from the outstanding mortgage balance then calculate the interest, so I just count how much I'm paying in each month between the offset savings and the fixed overpayment..... Sure it's probably not the best way to work it out, but I need simplicity :D!

    Afternoon :)

No 35 reporting in with Sept overpayment figure of £620 - bit less than usual as Mr greent has been out of work since May and it's getting a bit tighter here! Should still just make yearly target x

    Congrats to lavenderbees! :D

I have my redemption statement from the building society - it's about £300 more than I expected due to interest charges and a redemption fee of £125, bloomin cheek!

But the 29th is definitely Mortgage-Free day

    :T

    I'll shurrup now until then...:rotfl:
