  • Thanks to everyone for your warm welcome-back's :A 2012 is really not a year I wish to repeat :( Serious illness (wider family, not me) and a new job that's been longer hours and a real struggle (though I've had excellent feedback, but not good enough for them to keep me on :( I have only 2 more days at work, unless there's a complete miracle and more funding is found in the next 2 weeks). As you've probably noticed, I've had to give up Board Guiding, and TBH, I'm not missing it ;) So I thought I'd come and join in here again :j
PenPen is here, was thinking about you the other day when Hex and I were talking wood stores and stacking logs in size order :o you would understand out joy :j

I feel your joy :j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j This is the sort of woodpile I aspire to

Tis the same with the huge horse chestnut tree at the end of our drive, I live on a corner and none of the other 3 house help. I look on it as my bit for the community and good exercise to boot. Nobody does the other side of the road where there is another tree but I'm not that community spirited.

Lucky you - think of it as a free boost to your leafmould supply - a gardener can never have too much leaf mould

Thanks for the lists Dusty :A Off to catch myself one, then HHC 16:30 - 17:00 :j

Looks like a european woodpile;) Love the ones you see in Czech rural areas.

My leafmould this year was great, after only one year too. I'm not adding the HC ones as the leaves from our backgarden completely fill my large wire pen. I'd have to bring them all through the kitchen so I'm putting them in the brown wheelie, takes a few weeks but some find their way into my neighbours bin too ;)

I'm here. I've been lurking for a while. Lovely to see I'm still remembered. Need to get myself organised again. It's taken me a while to get over the pnuemonia. Longer than I thought it would.

It will be really nice to get to know old friends and new ones on here.

I have been flying but to my own method and came back to lurk and look at the lists.

So today I've done the dailies and been shopping with DD. A bit of washing and then a bit of a rest. Might start doing a bit wrapping tonight.

I see a few hugs and spoons are needed so help yourselves. I've missed you all and so has the house.

Hugs to LW and mumto5 x

We've had a communal nap. DS ha swollen glands, DD is always tired after 3 days at nursery and they were a touch late to bed last night. So we all got in my bed, and fell asleep, me with a tot on each shoulder :A was nice having a cuddle but my arms went numb :rotfl:

Have made dinner and it has spat all over the oven, just having a cuppa till it cools a touch and I will wipe it whilst warm :A

I made up some spray with cinnamon zoflora and the kitchen smells lovely, it makes me clean it more often haha.

Lol, there was just a pic of a tank on the news and DS said "mum look at that tank banger car" :D

Right, cuppa then hhc at 5.30???

Not much done yet, I did have a good scrub of the bathroom sink if that counts.

    Boddy lovely to see you.

I've just done loads of online Christmas shopping, sending emails of present requests to family etc. Going to put dinner on for DS2 and myself and have a mad fly for 20 minutes to warm up.

Penpen it's lovely to see you back; sorry the year's been a carp one for you, though. I don't blame you for stopping BG-ing; you've done your share, let others do theirs now.;) I'm still looking for someone to take the voluntary membership stuff off me - next stage is I put a little individual missive in with each renewal for the region in question, see if I can prod someone into taking it on.:o Onwards and upwards, 2013 will be better.:D

Mumto5 (((((HUG))))) I wish I could throw a rope round the elephant on your chest and haul it off.:(

People, don't worry too much about me - I knew going in that yesterday was going to knock me sideways (just didn't appreciate how far sideways) but I really wanted Mr LW to enjoy his birthday - after all, you never know the future, or how many more birthdays there'll be.:o

I really have to start learning to pace myself and conserve my spoons (thanks for the extra ones, CY; gratefully received.);) This is something I've never been good at, preferring the classic bull-in-a-china-shop approach.:D

Mr LW is going to help me do dins tonight, and hopefully we're going to get my hair washed.;)

    (((Hugs))) to Mumto5

Very gentle (((hugs))) and a big handful of spoons to Lamewolf, and "Many Happy Returns of Yesterday" to MrLW.

Plenty of (((hugs))) and spoons left for other people too, if you need them... especially all the poorlies. Hope you get well soon.

Today I resorted to writing a list for DH of all the phonecalls he has been procrastinating about for ages :(
In the space of half an hour he has already decluttered 2 out of 3, and is currently on the phone to Beattie about our Vision Box which has been out of order for at least 3 months  but it sounds as if he is getting somewhere at last... [Pause]... Result! A new box will arrive tomorrow or early next week :D
I was utterly fed up of having to do all the phonecalls (especially as most of them were about him), as well as everything else, and he is perfectly capable of dealing with these things when he puts his mind to it!!! :A

Not much flying achieved this week, but the house is generally tidy (even if not dusted), the washing and ironing are both up to date, and the eB@y sales are continuing as I write - FLING!
I've even printed out the labels for our cards: doing this so early in December is a new experience for me :D

Lovely tree, Bossymoo! My DGSs are coming here for a night the week before Christmas [sparing LW's ears] so I won't put the tree up until a few days before they come - but then I always leave mine up until Twelfth Night. We currently have a big star lit up outside the front door which brightens our end of the cul-de-sac in these dark nights and grey days. No snow here... yet... ;)
