Thanks TMD x Like the naming convention! Love the idea of calling one of the rooms a Hobby room as its where hubby wants to do his hobbies and me done mine. The other room is sadly a pet room with all their stuff. But it can be/will be organised better.

If I'm honest it feels like hubby's stuff dominates both spare rooms. But in reality at least half that rubbish is mine! What is mine is emotional stuff from my childhood some of which I should display better or bid farewell to if I'm not going to respect it.

It's all beginning to make sense :o

Right, clears throat trying to clear lump in throat.. a cup of tea, put the DW on, scrap ethe last bits of washing powder out of the box to do a packed load. Then move some bits of china from the Hobby (not Hubby!) room that remind me of Mum and place them somewhere nice x

  • The spare rooms have a lot of emotional strings attached to them so I think thats why I struggle there. .:o

I'm with you there, mineallmine. My Mum died last year and I have inherited all sorts of photos (BOXES OF THEM!!!), pictures and ornaments. When I made myself a Study/Office, I put up a picture from Mum's lounge on my wall, kept a coaster with a photo of her and Dad on holiday for my cuppas and a couple of other bits are on display. It makes me feel better having them around.

As for the other boxes, they are at the back of the pantry under the stairs, waiting for a week or two when I can deal with them thoroughly. At least they are indoors, keeping dry rather than in a damp garage or something, but it would be great to reclaim some space in the pantry. Just not now ;)

I have raked the leaves in the communal garden that no-one else ever seems to lift a finger in, and my resentment boiled over and kept me warm for the hour and a half that took. At least I won't need to put the heating on today. I've also swept and washed the backyard between the gate and the door so that when Lee wheels the new-to-me washing machine in he won't be tracking fresh mud over the fleeces covering the carpet.

Tis the same with the huge horse chestnut tree at the end of our drive, I live on a corner and none of the other 3 house help. I look on it as my bit for the community and good exercise to boot. Nobody does the other side of the road where there is another tree but I'm not that community spirited.

Just need to reply to a couple of emails and then into school for a meeting. Flying has been very minimal so far today.

Thanks TMD. It's hard dealing with stuff like this. Creating a Hobby room will become another mini positive challenge for me. Thank you for the inspiration :) The bits of china I bought reminded me of her. One of them has this saying
Enoughs as good as a feast

Another one I really wish I had said
Say not always what you know, but always know what you say

They now sit on display and not knocking around in a cluttered room. This flylady lark is life changing.

Uh, oh, Wolfy's failed again.:( All Flying suspended for remainder of the week; I can barely move enough to type a post, let alone wield a duster.

Mr LW thoroughly enjoyed his birthday:T but I fear I'm reaping the whirlwind today; doing domestic-y bits together then a visit to Bletchley Park then a three-course dinner at a restaurant are not the most sensible way to go in the middle of a major lupus flare.

I haven't even dressed today, sat here in my dressing gown, for the simple reason dressing would have used up a Spoon I simply didn't have.:(

    Can I have a sick-note til next Monday please?:o

Bossy your tree looks great - the Little Moos have done a grand job.:D
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)
  • Good afternoon :D

I have been to toddler group this morning, then popped to the shop for bread & kitchen rolls and maybe a tin or 2 of chocolates :o After lunch Miss T & I braved the cold to take the dog for a walk. We weren't out long as she really didn't like the ice, even though i was holding on to her hand tightly. It was very cold!

I emailed the company that I ordered an expensive pair of 'australian' sheepskin boots & some pink expensive 'plimsolls' (I think you know the ones!) as they said they had been dispatched a week ago, and the parcel tracking didn't work. They have emailed back an apology, and have refunded 10% :T:T I wasn't expecting that! It was a pleasant surprise. I had bought both pairs with a discount which meant that I got the pink ones free! And got cashback on top. If I want more designer shoes, i will use them again (when I eventually get them, of course!). I hope the DDs appreciate them!

School run soon, then I only have 1 boy until 5ish (I like Thursdays :)). My priority for tonight (and the next 5 days) is study, as I have to do my case study by Tuesday :o Flying may have to take a back seat.

spare spoons being dispatched from yorkietowers to the wolf's lair - hope you feel better soon.... glad to hear Mr LW enjoyed his birthday...

Early tea at yorkietowers for me and DD1 - we are off to the cinema to see Gambit - the reviews are not brilliant but it's got both colin Firth and Alan Rickman in ....... I'd happily pay to hear either/both read me the phone book.....
