Totally agree with ref the card number on the vouchers - however on some occasions, we have used MIL vouchers and Tesco staffed never checked them for name or card number!

I have also known RM staff to use these vouchers if they know that person has moved! Or the house is empty!

I'm sick of other peoples post coming to my house - the previous house owner (pre our landlady buying it) moved out in 1999 and we still get post for them. We don't have a forwarding address for them so I always put "return to sender - no longer at this address" on the envelope but will admit that sometimes I've opened the mail so I could get a return address but always sealed it back up ;) Worst thing was a man turning up from a debt collections agency and just asked for the person who used to live here by their first name, which is the same name as my partner. I've now learnt to ask for surnames as well  Oh, and don't get me started on phonecalls for people who used to live at our old address - we moved house and took the number with us (only moving across the road) and are still getting calls for them 7 years after they moved out!

RM staff can get up to 2 years imprisonment for interfering with mail.

Anyone else can get up to 6 months and a fine.

    I checked !!

I always scrawl RTS (return to sender) on all junkmail and it goes back in the postbox. Everything else gets the previous owners address put on it and they all go back in the postbox in one go about once a week/fortnight. It only takes a minute to do.

I just wish they had done that for me instead of thieving my stuff and rifling through my mail

I got sent someone else's gas bill arrears who claimed they had moved to my house in 2000. My house wasn't built until 2001. Still had fun convincing gas company that there had been no house there in 2000. Finally after a lot of other mail turned up (not nice stuff lets say, as he owed a lot of money), he got a visit from the police.
CC2 = £8687.86 ([STRIKE]£10000[/STRIKE] )CC1 = £0 ([STRIKE]£9983[/STRIKE] ); Reusing shopping bags savings =£5.80 vs spent £1.05.Wine is like opera. You can enjoy it even if you don't understand it and too much can give you a headache the next day J

I wouldn't be asking for the £17 back from them, it would be more like 4 x this value as I never use mine in the stores but for the deals.

i always thought u had to produce ur clubard with ur clubcard vouchers. as when i went shopping there last year , i had £40 worth of clubcard vouchers to use. only ahd a little cash. and my shopping came to about £60. handed over the vouchers and the cash differance. but i forgotten my clubcard. and they wouldn't take the vouchers. i explained i had no more money. and they still wouldn't. in the end i had to use my bank card ( which had money in. but was in there to pay something else so couldn't touch it.) i thens went home , sold the vouchers to my mum and went and banked the money to replace what i'd spent. she then done her shopping using my clubcard and voucher's. was lucky she was going to tesco later in the day. otherwise i'd been really stuck.

£17 x4 (worth 4 x their face value in Tesco deals) = £68... :) So a £17 cheque isn't actually what you lost and personally I think as they have infact broken the law they should be sending the £64 that you have lost out on!

And I would possibly contact the Royal mail and ask them who you should contcat about your mail having been opened by someone illegally.

with regards to other peoples post coming to your property, you can give a list of names who's post you DO want to be delivered to your house, to your local sorting office and they will sort it out for you. I done this when moving to my current house. You have to be careful though and make sure you remember your children in the list and try to remember exactly how you are addressed differently by people. Hope this helps
