Good luck getting it sorted, I was sort of lucky, when I moved house I had a catalogue I didn't use, changed address but they sent new catalogue to the old house. Anyway the new occupier ordered almost £1000 of goods from my account (limit was £1000 and I didn't have anything on it so she ordered to max). I was extremely lucky as at the time my Mam was covering maternity leave for the person who delivered the goods. She brought them to my house, I couldn't believe it!

This is the very reason I complained that a catalogue and letter with my account numbers were left outside the main door of our block of flats!! The catalogue company didn't seem to understand the problem and just said they aren't meant to do that!
working on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?

Or Tesco should reimburse you for allowing them to be cashed by another person.

    Or, if you're really lucky - both:beer:

newlywed they always leave them outside, that probably happened with this catalogue. Drives me crackers!! I could have had a bill of almost £1000 for new clothes and shoes for this woman and her 2 daughters. She did try to deny it when I went round there but they were all the right sizes for the three of them.
One day I might be more organised...........
    GC: £200
Slinkies target 2018 - another 70lb off (half way to what the NHS says) so far 25lb
  • Congratulations, you've been really lucky. I lost my Nectar card last year and the person who found it used it to pay their £60 shopping bill. Sainsbury's told me there was nothing they could do

Yes same thing happened to me when I was querying a wrong price in Sainsburys. When I got outside the shop I realised I hadn't got it and didn't remember the CS woman giving it back to me.
I returned and she said she had given it back to me but in those few minutes it had disappeared and I lost about £30 on it.

They should have a pin number as worth money.

Don't Nectar cards have signature strips? They could start off by checking those! Also, mine has my name on it. They should ask for ID if not paying by CC, and if they are, check the name on the CC matches.

    Grrrr too :)

    UPDATE

I have spoken to Tesco and have details of when the vouchers were used

exact date, time and location :D

We now live well over 2 hours away and the store they were used at is only minutes away from the previous address - proof enough me thinks :T

So, OH has phoned him back and given him the info, inc the fact that interfering with other people post carries penalties of up to 6 months or a fine.

I suspect we might be receiving a cheque for £17 very soon

Hopefully you will and also i would follow it up more with tesco as someone said before as it is their problem/mistake too...

The other thing is if they have had the nerve to open and spend your tesco stuff are you sure thereis nothing else they have done? ie i always get credit card companies writing to me with full details offering cards... perhaps to be on the safe side it should be logged with the police? this will either scare them to be good or at least cover your back if anything else did happen...?

Obviously i hope not but then i would also would have hoped they would have forwarded the tesco vouchers to you too...

Blimey i sound all doom and gloom dont i? Sorry!

    x

tesco's i dont think have a leg to stand on because you have already reported that the address has changed, its because of their negligence you have lost out on the money

w2s You are right, I should at least log it with police in case any other post like CC statements have been opened. I don't think they would dare - I think they did this just being 'cheeky' and wouldn't embark on anything they thought was particularly 'illegal' although technically they have, but you get my drift. I think they saw it as a bit of a freebie rather than the crime that technically it is
