Hi, guys! Just a quickie from me. DH is off. We've been pushing on with the decorating, then going into the garden.
Away to the in-laws for the weekend and taking DD and MIL to see Mary Poppins in London. Sorry, I just read that again.... DH and DS will be coming, too. It's a treat for DD and MIL's birthdays.
Have a great weekend, and catch up next week.

Hello everyone
Lots of posts and news from everyone today, most of which have been commented on by earlier posters then me, so I'll just send <Hugs> to those that need them. Catowen, you sound really down, two hugs to you.
Queenie, it was lovely to read your post, your (well deserved) prode is radiating from the screen - thank you.
OS wise: washing done and out on the line, DW emptied and refilled, BM on, all downstairs floors swept, have been to the gym, and am sitting eating my hm mushroom soup at the moment.
Dinner tonight is Shepherd's NoPie for DH, and either mushroom soup for me (unless I eat it all now, which is looking increasingly likely) or steamed veggies.
I'm going to make German Honey Rye and Beer bread next week which needs it's own starter (rather than Stanley, the sourdough starter I keep in the fridge). I'll start it today which means I can make the bread on Monday.
Popping to the local farm shop after lunch to get some veggies for the weekend, and have to drive into town to pay in my latest tax rebate. Shame they are in opposite directions, but I've no plans to go into town for ages, and I want to get the cheque in and paying me interest.
Have a good day everyone xxx0 -
Hi everyone!
Fab that it's Friday. My bosses are off on a week's hol in about 10 mins time...do you think they'd notice if I hid in their caravan on the way down!!! Could just do with a week in Dorset...aah well have to wait for my weekend at the Wimborne folk festival in June instead!!
OS today has been white wash out on the line, dark wash in which hopefully has also magically found its way out onto the line in my absence and bedding and towels stripped. Shall use my new bed linen that I've just inherited from my sister following her recent move and sort out.
This evening it's the weekly trawl around Mr T and then a cider and watch a dvd I've been lent.
Have a good day...hope to pop back tomorrow when I can evict OH and the small person off the pc!!
Aril
PS Has anyone here ever tried making their own mustard?...I've just found a recipe for one in a charity shop book I picked up recently and am pondering whether to give it a whirlAiming for a life of elegant frugality wearing a new-to-me silk shirt rather than one of hair!0 -
Hi all
Ooh, Aril, we are just near Wimborne, we have been to the festivals a couple of times (have only been here 2 years) to be scared by all the Morris Dancers
Hello to everyone. Can I copy and paste mioliere's post into mine? Or summarise by saying ((hugs)) to everyone who needs or wants one, congrats to those who are celebrating (especially those whose kids have achieved great things), and hello to everyone else :hello:
Well. DS2 is in bed, he had his MMR this morning poor love, so is calpol-ed up and sleeping it off. He loved Gingham Ribbon's galette au chou which we had for lunch
DS1 (nearly 3) wandering about naked. he's just put all his clothes into the washing machine and I can hear him in there saying 'There we go, they're as good as new'. Glad to see he is going to grow up OS!
I've cleaned out the DW gunk, now going to do the WM (if DS1 will let me). Cleaned the house all over yesterday apart from our bedroom which is always bottom priority. Typically, DS1 decided he wanted a wee in 'Daddy's toilet' and led my FIL up to our distinctly grubby en suite
So I guess my cover was blown - I have been pretending to be a good housewife all this time!
I'm dying for a cuppa now I've read everyone talking about their morning cups of tea! So will toddle off to put the kettle on. Hope everyone has a fabulous weekend. Looks like the weather will be nice here so we might drive out to the coast and see if we can get DS1's new kite off the ground! That man is richest whose pleasures are cheapest. The only way to know for sure is to work out how much it's costing you per kilo, for example your beef works out at £4.25 per kilo and I think thats a brilliant price! What weight will your half lamb be?
The half lamb is 10kg...is this good?

janb5 hope all goes well with the X-Factor audition. My friends daughter applied for the Grease show. She got through at the Manchester auditions, but didnt in London! She's been singing, dancing, and doing drama since she was in nappies, and currently studying to take it all further. It just goes to show, it doesnt matter how qualified or good you are, your face has to fit!
catowen (((big hugs))) - you know where we are for a chat! Take your pick, we've all offered!
lil-me hope you get the wasp thing sorted out!
Well - I finally got in touch with my dad this afternoon, I hope to visit him sunday afternoon, but have to ring first to see if he's in!
Ive also been called a "gutless tw4t" from my younger sister for not telling my dad that my brother is moving to America. So I replied, its his business to tell who he likes when he likes, its nothing to do with me, FAMILIES! I miss my dad heaps but I certainly dont miss the crap what comes with it! Why pick on me!!
Ive so wanted to hit the MARS BARS this afternoon at work cos of her attitude, but Im being very good regarding this diet, I dont want to spoil things! After all, why I should I let some jumped up little trollop upset me!
exOH is fetching kids from school, he does this every friday.
Waiting for OH to finish work, then we can nip into town, pay his bills, and if the bra shop is open, Im going to get properly measured!
Right, time for a cuppa me thinks
Catch you later

Good afternoon all...Hugs to all not feeling well and those in need for no special reason.
Peem...I know what you mean about OH...I've had mine for 37 years and still have hopes that he will do something off his own bat without being told...my 'children' frequently ask why did I expect him to change when he retired. He has been outside trying to put together the Lidl composter we bought yesterday for the past hour and a half...I offered to do watering instead, one hour down, two more to go!
Had a good morning, cashed in a high interest 5 year savings plan and cleared our mortgage, so I can now truthfully describe myself as 'homeowner'..OH wanted to keep money in bank just in case but I've done that before with smaller amounts and it just melted, so maybe the MS is rubbing off on me after all. We felt so good that we had lunch in our favourite, long time since we did that without having vouchers and it was delicious!
DGS1 is a junk food addict and since I have been looking after him in the afternoons he has snacked on pizzas, hotdogs and if I'm lucky fish. This pm made up small amount bread dough...sr flour, salt and milk, rolled it out very thinly, covered with Tomato Ketchup and grated cheese and he said that it was just like the usual ones only bigger..result!
Overcast here to-day but quite warm so may put on another wash to go outside on line.

Afternoon all.
The weekend is here as far as im conserned!! Kids being wonderful havent had to shout yet since they got home!
Pizza smells lovely have no where to go tonight, so im happy, and... i have got a milkman at last.
They knocked on the door earlier and i agreed to sign up, they do veg boxes too with iv been after for ages, and all provided by local famers, yes the milk is about 30p more than in the shops, but i like the idea of knowing i wont run out and there will always be milk for breakfast plus im surporting the local farmers.
On top of that, im sure you will all remember me winnning my bank charges back in Feb, well get this i recieved another offer from them today offering me the full amount again!! Dont know what to do, tell them their mistake or accept again and play thick saying that i thought they hadnt recieved my last offer slip??? Dont know what to do, they have no idea what they are doing due to the vaste amount of people claiming mainly due to this fantastic site!!
Also got my smartbox working at last was alot easier than i thought.
All in all a interesting day
Take care
Donna

Helloooo! :j
Well, this morning I was discharged from jury service. Spent all week waiting around and now it's all over.
Got home at about 1pm and decided to do a job I had planned for tomorrow, namely defrosting and cleaning the fridge. I have the small variety, the table-high one with the ice compartment where I can put small amounts of frozen stuff - after all I live alone and don't need a bigger thing.
So it's defrosting away now, and later I shall do a good cleaning with a bit of hot water and washing up liquid. After this, I shall wipe down all the inside very carefully with vinegar. I find that vinegar disposes of all stale smells, disinfects and is more environmentally friendly than bleach. Occasionally I do use bleach to bring the whiteness back, but only very occasionally.
So I have put the day to good use and can enjoy more of my weekend.
Have a nice evening, everyone!
Be careful who you open up to. Today it's ears, tomorrow it's mouth.0
