Morning all
Sorry some of us aren't feeling too good today, hope you feel better soon.
Dull here today, I suppose this is the sort of weather we should be having at this time of year, but I am already missing the sunshine. Spent all yesterday afternoon planting seeds for the greenhouse, and then last night OH brought home 3 tomato plants that he had been given - if everything grows, I think I will be going into the organic veg box business :rotfl:
Nipping to Netto this morning, they have the packs of mini cereals on special for 87p instead of £1.74, so I'm stocking up, very MSE
- then will have to cut the lawns later.
Made a balti last night with a jar of mix from Aldi, and it was really good, I just threw in some chicken and mushrooms. DH had seconds, so it must have been good
Mixed grill for tea today, the dog will be thrilled, he loves sausages
Have a good day everyone xYou're only young once, but you can be immature forever

Good morning everyone
I seem to have lost the knack of having a lie-in. When I wake up now I find that if its daylight I just have to get up. Not great when you really fancy having a lazy Saturday to yourself.
(((hugs))) to Snowy, mrs mix and Penny-pincher hope you all feel better soon.
Today is my first day back at work for a week - I just love these short weeks.
DD's ear is playing up. I think she has tried to clean it with a cotton bud and compacted the wax (sorry if this is tmi). Anyway, I got her some ear drops yesterday and they are already making a difference. They do pong though! What a stink. Dd has been told that she should never try to clean her ears like that again.
My cupboards are emptying nicely thanks to the storecupboard challenge. Tomorrow I will empty the freezer, make a list of everything that's in it and restock it - after cleaning it out of course. I am determined not to do a full shop until I have used up almost everything that I can in the cupboards and fridge/freezer.
Dinner tonight will be the veg biryani (again) followed by fruit salad. note to self - must use up the fruit in the fridge before it goes off!
Have a fantastic Friday. xx"Bad planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part."

Washer's on, off for a shower in a mo. This week has been mad, OS has taken a back seat a bit. Today we have to drop miss tru at school, then I'm at work for an hour, then it's the dentist for master tru. We have to go shopping and the hoover has been neglected so I might get it out later
It's my mum's birthday, we'll pop round to see her too. I might clean the bathroom later, depends how I feel

Morning everyone
WM is on, after I soaked the soap drawer in bleach as it was disgusting  Packed lunches are made and I've ironed everyone's uniform/work clothes. Just about to jump in the shower.
I can't believe it's Friday either dlb - this week has flown
I'm growing some plants this year (never done it before) and they are tomatoes, peppers, chillies, sweet onions and 4 different herbs. They're currently in propogators in the windowsill and I feel like a proud mum every morning when I come down and see how well they're doing
Anyway better dash - have a great day everyone!Squares knitted for my throw ~ 90 (yes!!! I have finally finished it :rotfl: )Squares made for my patchwork quilt ~ 80 (only the "actual" quilting to do now :rotfl:)0 -
Hi Annie - just a quick one because I've just read your post. My DH needs to get his ears syringed (hope everyone's had breakfast!) and the nurse who has that delightful job says that olive oil is as good as ear drops but a lot cheaper, so that's what we always use now. You can get the little dropper-thingies in the chemist - I bought two last week; they're called pipettes and come with little brown bottles for .83p each. I also use them for making up aromatherapy potions when you only need a couple of drops so they're useful anyway.
The other thing I would say is has your GP looked at the ear? My DS2 had the odd bout of trouble as a child but when he was in his teens developed a condition called cholesteatoma and had to have three operations to put it right! We were told the worst thing to do was put any moisture in the ear! He had to have most of the inner ear removed and then sort of replaced with grafts - very complicated - and he has to have yearly check-ups. Luckily, it's not affected him badly but you do have to aim at the good ear when you're talking to him! Hope DD's ear is getting better and that the lecture about cotton-wool buds has got through!KNIT YOUR SQUARE TOTALS:

Hi
not posted for a couple of days - been keeping an eye on you though. And hugs and belated birthday wishes.
Just scoffed 2 chicken drumsticks for breakfast - if I didn't eat them now they would end up in the bin (DH will only eat breast meat!).
Need to go to the sorting office in Jarrow to pick up a parcel. Gonna see if I can find my way via South Shields cos I really don't want to sit in the Tyne Tunnel traffic. My life at the moment seems to be one long queue of traffic, there are road works everywhere - and I just can't avoid them. Such a waste of time and petrol.
Had planned to go to Melrose Abbey tomorrow with the kids (it's historic scotland's open weekend, when there is no entry fee to loads of places). But it's raining and I don't think it'd be as much fun for them in the rain. I'd be quite happy cos I love Melrose and all its little "bitty" shops. Also - we'd planned to go up to Mum and Dad's in Fife rather than coming home, but of course there are massive queues due to roadworks on the Forth Road Bridge.
So I need to plan the weekend (if I don't then nothing will happen)
Need to meal plan, and I'm thinking of planning in most of the year. I get the feeling things are slipping away from me. We've been in this house just about 9 years now and there is still loads to do on it. I've long since realised DH isn't the get up and go type. He's fine when he does stuff, but he has to have it pointed out to him. I used to feel like a nag, but I've realised he prefers it that way. Means he doesn't have to think, and if I've not asked him to do anything he definitely will do NOTHING.
well, have a good friday and do some good OSing."You can't get a cup of tea big enough or a book long enough to suit me." - C.S. Lewis0 -

Hi Y'all,
Well I'm having a wonderful week! It's quite nice going out each day all gussied up and being a 'real' person who meets other adult 'real' people isn't it?;) The scales have fell from my eyes and I fear I am gona miss going out to work when these three weeks are up! A whole new world has opened up to me.
I've eyed up a few bits in Pimark that I'm gonna crash my first wage packet on.
Ate my sandwiches is the park with a local tramp and his dog.
Got into an argument about the last free parking space on a congested pay 'n' display road.
Signed one of those huge "sorry your leaving" cards for a collegue I didn't know from Adam. LOL
Basically all the things 'normal' peaople do!
The cats have gone all snooty at being left home-alone all day and I've done nothing OS all week, but I don't care. Shop bought Lasagne can't be that bad for ya can it? LOL. I'm enlisting all at Chez MATH for a major de-crud & sanitise tomorrow and then I'm gonna forget cleaning for another week.
Hope you are all having a good week too.
Nice to hear from TM again
PP Imagine all the Shepherd's Pie you could make with half a sheep. At least enough to last you two days. I reckon:p
Hugs
