Sorry to hear that dd is having a bit of an unsettled time at school. I found my two had the most friendship problems in the last couple of years of primary - much better at secondary. Though girls can still be bi**chy now of course, mine have more confidence and the ability to 'not give a sh*t' really:rotfl: I remember quite a few spats in primary with dd1, was very hard with me working there too and seeing her upset at times but having to stay out of it. She has a great attitude now though, if someone doesn't like her she couldn't care less:D She'd give as good as she got if anyone upset her! It's all a learning curve I thought:o
I'm loving having the heating off too, I feel so relieved to know the bills not goi up and up quite so much. I even caught the sun yesterday in the garden, I didn't think it was that warm, the breeze hid it well. Such an attractive look, the red patch on the chest:rotfl:
Thank you for the kind words about my diary, though I can't imagine anything I say could possible be of any help or inspiration to anyone....I do miss posting on my diary though so might resurrect it. :A
DD had a much better day today and has come home much happier. I think it's all just a learning curve too.
Now go and get your diary started up again! It's not how far you fall - it's how high you bounce back.... :jHappiness is not a destination - it's a journey0 -
Today I made my first mortgage overpayment :T I checked first that the small test payment had got there and then I sent a further £100. I will update my spreadsheet in a little while to reflect this. I also got my current balance so hopefully everything will look accurate.
We had to buy a couple of birthday presents after school/work today so we popped to Argoose and Ne*t. I ended up treating dd and myself to a new top each although mine will need to be changed for the next size upI also stocked up on wrapping paper as it was for 4 for 3.
Not much else to report. Just sofa, TV and chocolate for me nowIt's not how far you fall - it's how high you bounce back.... :jHappiness is not a destination - it's a journey0 -
I've popped on here now in the hope that it will make dinner cook quicker......pots tend to come to the boil faster when I'm distracted...:rotfl:
Not much else to tell. NSD apart from sponsoring someone for the London to Brighton walk (!!!!!!!!!)
Got a text from Evan$ Cycle$ and the things I ordered should be delivered tomorrow. At the very least I need the spare inner tubes to take with me for my bike ride on Sunday.
Have hoovered and a dark wash is on. Dinner is now cooking nicely. Spag bol tonightIt's not how far you fall - it's how high you bounce back.... :jHappiness is not a destination - it's a journey0 -
Woooo to mortgage overpayments :j
Should also be doing some housework but been a bit distracted!

Woo hoo - I got a Debt-Free badge!!
Not much money spent this weekend. On Saturday there was a pole photo shoot with a professional photographer. I managed to get a few pics done before I put my back out againlooks like that is going to be a weakness. It almost feels back to normal now which is good because it took almost 2 weeks to return to normal last time.
I did a charity bike ride yesterday and it was really good fun. I did the 30 mile route and including getting to the start and getting back home again I did nearly 34 miles :T That's the most I have ever cycled, there were quite a few steep hills and I didn't get off and push once. It was really well organised and I met some lovely people.
It also turns out I have quite a thing for male cyclists - who knew!! I was in heavenNext bike ride is Bank Holiday Monday, but only doing 23 miles this time.
Today at lunchtime I had to get a birthday present so popped to Ada's and bought a nice bottle of wine and some nice handcream. Got a few extra bits for myself - £14.38
It's quite a nice town and a new charity shop had opened so I l
had a nose round there and bought dd a really nice ethnic printed tunic for £1.95 - very m0ns00n (but not). It looks great on her but she doesn't like it - typical :cool:It's not how far you fall - it's how high you bounce back.... :jHappiness is not a destination - it's a journey0 -
Have had quite a spendy weekend. DD is going for her camping trip this saturday and the amount of stuff they need to take for one night is incredible. Of course we had to get new toiletries and everything. I still need to get her a sleeping bag and we will do that tomorrow evening.
I'm going to a wedding next saturday evening so I was also panic buying dresses to wear to that. I must have tried about 8 on and came home with 2 but neither look fabulous so they will be going back tomorrow and I will wear something i've already got.
I also got some new bike stuff in a1di last week and a jacket i bought will also be going back. That should all bump my bank balance up a bit.
I did another charity bike ride yesterday. This time it was just over 24 miles. They put on a lovely ploughmans lunch halfway round and there was a climb up the steepest hill in Kent (25% gradient) afterwards with badges for those who made it to the top without getting off to push. I managed about 80% then couldn't go any more. It was an absolute killer!
I've been really boring recently and been going to bed at about 9 o'clock!! It's actually quite nice knowing I've got a few hours all tucked up in bed just readingAt the moment I'm reading Bill Bryson's Notes From A Small Island. His are the only books I will re-read. They still make me laugh.
Still mega busy at work. A new girl started today and I feel bad that I can't spend too long showing her what to do. Hopefully tomorrow will be better.
I'm giving pole a break for a few week because it's not doing my back any good. We had dinner at mum and dad's tonight and have come home and I've given the bathroom a quick sparkle. As soon as the towels have finished in the washing machine I'm going to go to bedIt's not how far you fall - it's how high you bounce back.... :jHappiness is not a destination - it's a journey0 -
Still mega busy at work. I am training 2 people whilst trying to get the rest of the work done myself. I told my boss today that I was getting more and more swamped as each day goes by. I can manage the vital daily stuff but everything else is just stacking up and I can't get on top of it. Every time I think I'm getting there another problem comes in. Still, at least my boss knows now. I'm not paid to do the worrying
We popped to the next town this evening and took back the dresses and the cycling jacket so that was about £60 credited back to my account. I changed a top I bought in N*xt for the next size up and also got dd a sleeping bag for Saturday - £19.99.
Not much else going on tonight. Dinner cooked and cleared away, dd is in bed, going to relax on the sofa and watch some TV - Scott & Bailey tonight , I like that. Got a bit of a craving for chocolate too mmmm. Will eat some fruit first though to stop the guilt :AIt's not how far you fall - it's how high you bounce back.... :jHappiness is not a destination - it's a journey0 -
I had a strange weekend. It was weird without dd. I didn't enjoy the time to myself as much as I thought I would. I spent most of it worrying if she would be warm enough
I did go out for a guilt free bike ride though. I did 24 miles and almost got lost in a wooded area. I have checked the map now and know where I went wrong for next time.
I enjoyed the wedding reception I went to. I took £40 with me and came back with £40 :T the free bar lasted longer than I thought it would and when it finished people just bought me drinks
I had a lazy day on Sunday apart from a leisurely wander round sainsbugs when I bought loads of lovely food. I picked dd up at 5.30pm - I'd really missed her and she said she'd got homesick too. She's also come home with a nasty sore throat and a streaming cold. I'm not surprised - I'd woken at 3am Sunday morning and was cold and I was under a thick duckdown duvet in a house - they must have been freezing in tents and it had rained most of the previous day tooShe had today off school but will be going back tomorrow.
The rain has steadily got worse here today. It has been relentless for the last couple of hours. Where's our summer????It's not how far you fall - it's how high you bounce back.... :jHappiness is not a destination - it's a journey0 -
Not much to report here. Busy busy busy still at work but as I'm getting more training done the new people are slowly starting to relieve me of some of the work that I have been doing. Slowly getting on top of everything.
Spends today was £20 on a n*xt voucher for my friend's dd's birthday present.
I've been for for 2 runs this week. Been lucky and managed to dodge the downpours. I will try to get another one in tomorrow. I've got another charity bike ride this Sunday - 33 miles this time and very hilly for the last two thirds of it. Gradually building up my mileage - London 2 Brighton is getting closer......
Have cleaned bathroom, washed towels and bath mats, cooked dinner and cleared away and done dd's reading with her. She's in bed now and has a rotten cold and a croaky voice but is much better than yesterday.
Am quite annoyed because Scott & Bailey isn't on tonight - the bl00dy UEFA football is on instead  might just go up to bed at 9 like usual.....:cool:It's not how far you fall - it's how high you bounce back.... :jHappiness is not a destination - it's a journey0 -
A NSD for me today unless you count the £5.36 mortgage overpayment I made. It was all from quidc0 earnings so wasn't even my money
I've updated my OP spread sheet to reflect it.
Went for my final run of the week. Going to rest now before Sunday especially as I think I have caught dd's coldgot a lumpy sore throat , have been sneezing and am aching a bit too
I've hoovered all through, cooked dinner and cleared away. I'm watching Secret Eaters and looking forward to the Hoarders programme afterIt's not how far you fall - it's how high you bounce back.... :jHappiness is not a destination - it's a journey0
