Of course you can join, km1977, and HighlandLass! A very warm welcome to you. biggrin.gif Have fun saving. You'll find your number at the bottom of the list on post 5 of page 1. Please read through post 1 as it'll let you know exactly what to do with the challenge.

*Please pop your numbers on your sigs, it really helps.

I plan on starting to walk/bike to work so saving the money I would use for the bus in the pot, taking lunch and the kids to work/school etc etc.

An excellent way to budget and save, km1977!! You can always bank what you save...and become rich. ;)

HighlandLass, I'm sure that with determination and budgetting you'll do fine. BTW, you're welcome to include what you save on the £2 challenge in your Total here next November.

I also made £20 by making a Xmas cake for a friend so that's going in the pot(s).
I have also decided that I'm going to save my total from SPC5 and put it towards a holiday to go to either America or Australia.

Hi Elle! So, has your friend put in an order for next year? I hope so, and wouldn't it be good if you could sell some more...food for thought! ;) All the best with the holiday wishes.

You mean the winnings all went to YOUR pot, Betsie?!!! Brilliant...though it sounds as though you were half cut if you re-read your post. :rotfl:

I don't blame you for being dubious, Thriftkitten, but at least 00.30 and a taxi booked is the safest and best way. All the best with your course.

A very good start, cyclura, though it's customary for DH's to help out with the pots..whether they're aware or not! :D

Hiya skilly and I'm hoping you're feeling very much better.

A brilliant trolley find, getting-there-slowly, it always pays to keep an eagle eye out. ;)

I got it thanks, sparky, just need time to reply to you now :) Between you and me..I'm thinking of doing the deed tomorrow. Fascinating reading with the billions, well, to a point it's fascinating, until it reaches the point where you feel they've slapped you in the face with a wet sock! Bally politicians and PC! Don't agree with either..nor bankers.:mad: I hope you can fix the lappy, I can remember way back to the 1st SPC when you had big problems then!! How about that!

Oooh Rosy, I do hope you're feeling a LOT better now. That Noro virus has really been awful for sooooo many people, what an awful time too. A friend of ours lost a whole STONE!!!!!

You're doing so well, Emily. :)

Hi Saver88, have a lovely time at the pantomime, the meal too.
A VERY safe and healthy New Year to all our SPC family.

    Evening everyone
10p road change walking the dog. Also a £2 coin & 50p in the New York 2014 spending pot (it's actually a smaller sealed pot attached to the main sealed pot but I like to see how much we can save in that particular coinage) extra change going in today from shopping trip and I'm about to raid DW's purse as she's gone to get changed out of her work clothes. Shh don't tell her

Have a great evening everyone stay safe and keep saving

  • Evening everyone! I'm afraid I haven't had time to post for several days for various reasons but have been popping in to try and keep up with other posts on this very busy thread :)

I have resisted going to the sales :A as all my money has been spent over the Christmas period. The good news is everyone was very pleased with their gifts...no returns required...and the vouchers we gave people were being used on sale items to get more for the money. It's a win/win situation, I think. We certainly have wasted no food this year, just buying what we needed, a very MSE Christmas :money: I will do a food shop tomorrow but expect to be able to stay within budget so I've potted the spare change in my purse ( around 50p 'ish I think) This thread is brilliant for focussing the mind :D

A big WELCOME to all the Newbies! Enjoy the challenge and imagine how pleased you will feel next November to have stuck with it :)

    Have a lovely evening x

Hello little_sweetie! oooh I do have to agree with the quote above, it's helped T & I no end, far more cash-wise. Lovely to hear Christmas turned out so well with you too, we made sure we knew, more or less, what the family wanted and it worked out a dream.

For all those who won't be here tomorrow or Tuesday:
A VERY safe and healthy New Year to all our SPC family.
