They had a charity crib collecting inside Mr. M's this morning and I found a stray 20p in my pocket which was earmarked for the pot but it is the season of goodwill and all that and I couldn't walk past it now could I Sue???? Hope I am forgiven :D;)

    b_e_g

Hiya b_e_g, so good to see you before Christmas. Have a wonderful time with hubby(does that sound rude?? ) Of course you're forgiven..goodwill indeed. ;)
Have potted £4.12. 39p of that was road change. Change from the last few days.

Hello Kerry. I've missed you! What a lovely sum and a really nice bit of angel droppings to store away. :grinheart

Excellent savings, DebtFreeASAP!!!! Yes, I know it was a Christmas present, but very, very wisely spent. ;)

Oh, believe me, mossy, you're not the only one to get a strange urge to rugby tackle people on see them finding roadkill. sparky's always first though.

Don't you fret, Bunny, he'll be pleased you bullied him later on.

All the very best to your DH, jakes-mum, to all others who are poorly right now too, I sincerely hope you're ALL able to enjoy Christmas.

Our S-I-L has a terrible throat at present, barely any voice either! I won't tell you what our DD and their kiddies say. :rotfl:

Hello - well having been totally torn in town last night I chose not to spend my £1 on a lovely tin (for my sealed pot) in the pound shop and stick with my Walls Ice cream tub instead :) I dithered for ages before deciding I would 'pot' the pound instead.

No-one knows I am potting this year - think dd and dh would laugh.... however plan is that they will be more on board when I break it open on Nov 28th 2013...then they can buy me a lovely tin for next year :)

However tonight I was sorting out coats in the hall and removed a couple that don't fit (next year's challenge ;))... I checked the pockets and..... £10!!!! in the pot it goes :j:j:j

    Love this challenge.

Very well done on waiting, flump, on saving too! :T What a wonderful surprise it'll be for your DH & DD next November!!! :j ....so good to hear how you're loving the challenge!! :D

You've every reason to be pleased, DHelen, all savings are money SAFE from being spent...worse still - wasted!!!

    Brilliant, Savingforsomeday....you too, new leaf!!!

Sue hope you've got an Ark on standby with the severe flooding warning for the South, hope you're all safe X

Hiya sparky! We're fine part way up the hill, thanks, but if we flooded then the village would be submerged!!!! :( We went to a friend's (after doing her shopping) then on to town and there's a LOT of flood water around, but it's far worse in Devon & Cornwall. You & J stay well too.

    Keep chipping away, Emily.
We had a lovely meal with our friends on Wednesday. G has now had his scan results and although it definitely is prostate cancer, it doesn't appear to have spread (thanks to the dear Lord) and he'll have an op to remove it in the new year.

I've been doing a budget for next year (how I wish I could utilise spreadsheets like some clever folk on here ) and was wondering if anyone else is increasing their food budget for 2013 in view of the possible increase in veg prices etc? I can see an increase already, do we need to worry?

Hi little_sweetie! Thrilled to bits you had a good meal, but so very delighted to hear of G's news!!!!! :T Thank the Lord indeed for a wonderful gift!! :grinheart

Re the budgeting, T & I do it all year round. Try, where possible, to stick to what you've been spending each week/month, but don't be surprised if you can't always achieve it. That's what I'd say to anyone. This government will carry on trying to [STRIKE]screw us[/STRIKE] take all they can from us, but no matter what, we have to just do our best. Worrying about anything like that never helps, so just go with the flow and be happy. :) Right now you just look forward to..and enjoy Christmas! ;) I truly hope your DD is feeling much better soon.

Well, my last saving for this year is £10 in the pot, all things considered I'm really proud of that!
    A Very Merry Christmas

    and a

    Happy, Healthy New Year,everyone!!

No need to ask to re-join, your number is the one you get to keep forever, so go get your pot of dreams, a knife and a glass of wine, tip the pot upside down, get the coins out with the knife & drink the wine while doing it, then get yourself over to SPC5 and declare your total (if you want to that is, no pressure!) :rotfl:
