  • Welcome back Sue-UU ~ pleased you're feeling better!

Beccah I'm so sorry to hear your news. With regards to your 12 year old ~ my eldest son is nearly 18. He was messed around at primary school (but they eventually said he had ADHD), secondary school were a little more helpful and diagnosed dyslexic tendancies, ADD and possible dyspraxia. He's now at college and has had yet another assessment, the college think he is definitely dyslexic. He has worked really hard and has never let anything hold him back and its fabulous to see him doing so well (he stuggles with 'english' subjects, but excels at 'hands-on' and is doing a carpentry course). My youngest son is 9 and I was called into his school when he'd been there 6 weeks. He was diagnosed with Dyspraxia and ADD shortly after. The school have been brilliant and he's had weekly physio sessions and other help and is doing amazingly well.

My (very long-winded) point was this ~ although these children are 'different' it doesn't mean they won't succeed. I hope the school will now do everything they can to help your son do as well as he can now and I understand how cross you are that they missed it all this time. They may be able to allow extra time in exams etc when the time comes (they did with DS1).

    Sending you *hugs* xx

    |I know the weathers bad (its snowing lightly here), but have been planning a boot sale for a few weeks. I enrolled the parents (or more precisely the items they dont use).....same applied to the brother and sister in law. At the moment I have quite a pile of "junk".....some of its quite nice, honestly.....and its too bloomin cold to do a bootie. Aiming for second week of the easter hols......can I put money from the bootsale into my sealed pot for the purposes of this challenge? I literally only manage 1 or 2 a year at best.

Oh and been offered 3 hours overtime this afternoon so think I will pot that as well, as wasnt expecting it.

Gosh you lot do motivate me to save. xx

    I've been Money Tipped!
Morning all, hope all are well especially Sue and beccah.
Weather not as bad as other places it seems, but cold and windy - stay warm all.

Potted 4 x 20p coins, but not counting as I'm only count the full £'s now. It will help with the extra surprise come the end of November though. So still need that extra £5 to reach £200+, see what today brings as I need to visit a few shops.

    Take care all.

Just wanted to pop on here while Ive got 5 mins to say a heart felt thank you. I really didnt expect all the wonderful messages of support, but then again this forum IS wonderful! :D
Just briefly, my doctor thinks my son didnt 'flag' anything earlier as he is doing so well at school...he's in the top set for everything and got great results in his SATs last year. Its only come to light since he moved to senior school last Sept and is finding it hard going from subject to subject if that makes sense?
Regarding hubby, Im at the 'sod him' stage (slightly different wording but you get the idea) :mad:As someone said, I needed support not more hassle. Sorry I forgot your name but you know who you are, that really struck home. It was just a shock as I really thought that after nearly 20 years I could safely say I knew him, but I guess you never really know anyone...Lesson Learnt

Anyway on a happier note....Managed to pot another habdful of change yesterday, didnt count it exactly but there was at least £10 :D

Thank you all once again and have a great weekend xx

Well have a large whiskey jar and some coins in it. Not a great deal can I join in the fun. Will seal the top to stop me borrowing from it. Target 250 pounds. Single female trying to get out of debt, living in North Wales but would love to escape on a wee holiday December.

You've earned a gold star, Helen, :staradmin don't forget page 1 though or they could be missing out on all my wise words! :rotfl:

Look our, skilly, don't let anyone see you doing your DD's or you could be getting orders!! There'd be a LOT more *%@"$&* going on then, my DH hated it too! Enjoy it for the now though. :)

Just a £5er to go then, Lynsey, you'll have breezed it then!!!! :j

You may have only saved 51p lately, oldhat, but having all those NSD`s is possibly a greater save. :)

Such a lovely post to read, Lindylou, and I'm sure will be so very comforting to beccah. All the best for your little treasure. :A Such caring gets one of these. :staradmin

Of course it all adds up, shinner, I hope your DS is soon much better. See, now you've added more!

Good for you, nell, a bit of pressure off for now.
Hi Sue, the scan was amazing, we have pictures, more pictures on disc and a DVD, although the little monkey wouldn't wake up so unfortunately the DVD isn't too exciting for others o watch. I still love it though. :D. Baby smiled and stuck its tongue out at one point too.

I am so very happy for you, ETO, it must be amazing to watch him or her at the actual time it's all being done. If you get a real buzz from watching the dvd...you watch it and cherish it, it's worth the world! :grinheart

Many thanks, Happybeingme. It's so good to hear about your lad, hasn't he done well!! :grinheart These blessed 'labels' they give youngsters can be so maddening. Hugs for your little one. A loving family does so much for them. A star for caring and helping a fellow member. :staradmin

Thanks you, sparky, great work with the cash. I love the way you summed up Beccah's current dilemma, very true too, though hopefully he will soon be missing them all.

Hi Beccah! It's so good to see you and to read what you've said about your DS having moved to the senior school....could that be all it is...adjusting, but so far finding it a problem. Time and patience is needed right now and plenty of TLC that a treasured Mum alone can give. :grinheart

Same parting words as yesterday, folks, have a lovely weekend and keep warm all those up north and dry all those here in SW....stay well all.

    Sue x
