Thanks Sue-UU, feeling more positive about things today as had a chat with the SENCO at his nursery who seems really positive that measures can be put in place to help him when he starts school in September. Luckily its a linked school/nursery so wont be too much of an upheaval for him to deal with. He liked his 'gentle cuddles from the lady in Mummys computer!

That's such good news, beccah, it sounds as though they're really out to help him as much as possible. :grinheart I'm sure you feel a whole lot better now and I hope your little treasure is feeling a little better from the awful pox.

I see that some people are counting their spoils as they go along, but I taped my empty choccy tin up to stop me doing that! Does it matter?

Hi LindyLou, very bad luck on having to take cash out for a bill. Some people might need to keep tabs on what they save, especially if they're saving for something special. It's up to everyone to do what they're all happiest with. They too have their pots taped and jot they're savings down on their siggys. :) No need to worry about sparky, he has everything sorted on a spreadsheet and never gets snowed under.

Wonderful to hear about the job, Wyre, a heck of a lot better than nowt for sure.

*Themorrisfamilyof4 your SPC No is 2029 not 6, a misunderstanding somewhere I suppose, if you could put it right I'd be grateful.

I know I'm late but please add me again Sue

Not sure how much I want to save but if I could get into 3 figures (i.e. £100+) then I would be happy

    Thanks

Hello there, starnac, good to see you, though as someone said, you never need adding in each time as I simply transfer the member list.

So sorry to hear of your poor cat's passing, mommyof4, cuddle the kiddies to help ease the pain. :)

Hi there, sparky, I'll bet it's fever-pitch in your house right now, not long though! Enjoy the Birthday celebrations, it'll be marvellous. :D

Evening all, a quick visit to say that quite proudly I have just put over £4 of assorted change in to my work tin and 10p road kill in to my bottle - found when walking back in to work in the middle of the road by the traffic lights, so I had to collect it as the road was empty.

Thanks you Sue -UU - for my number - I've added it into the signature. I've tallied up and added a little bit - now £6.66 - small beginnings. Need to find a better tin!
I love the idea of roadkill!!

  • Hello everyone, noticed the sealed pot challenge on poster's signatures and have wondered what it was for a while, (the clue's in the name - sealed pot challenge lol), so can I join.
My dad had a money tin given to him by my brother for Christmas (Scrooge tut lol) as well as other things and I asked could I have it.
Previous mistake made of saving £1 coins leading to opening pot because I was so skint so this time I save 1ps, 2ps, and 5ps because that way I am more likely not to open before its full, I want some advice, however.
I want to collect 10ps as well but I'm afraid that it will leave me skint as this will probably graduate towards 20ps, 50ps and then the £1s again as I have OCD. Please can I have some advice, I don't count the money I put in at the moment I just put in anything <10p in my purse. Thankyou.

  • Hi 41 and I know it (great name!):D

I too have OCD and find that if I pot 10p or smaller during the week it helps. As then I can have anything bigger in my purse til Friday. I then pot whatevers left in my purse on a Friday as I know I wont need it.
Another idea is to only pot your savings...money saved on shopping multi buys, vouchers etc. so you can then 'label' it as seperate from regular change if that makes sense?
I'm having to make a really concious effort NOT to count everything I pot, as I know I would then have to count it everyday...Its driving me mad at the moment but it is starting to get easier :)
Hope that helps a bit and happy potting :D
