  • Hi everyone, welcome to all of you newcomers.

I've potted an extra £1 from the change I got from buying stamps. I have to learn not to misplace them :-(

And there's the 6p my friend gave me as a joke to add to the pot as well. I've only just realised how much I enjoy shopping, and she's convinced I'll never manage to save anything.

Hope you're all having a good day :-)
  • Thank you for the warm welcome and adding me to the challenge member list Sue-UU. Another £1 has been added to my pot to mark the occasion :rotfl:
  • I want some advice, however.
I want to collect 10ps as well but I'm afraid that it will leave me skint as this will probably graduate towards 20ps, 50ps and then the £1s again as I have OCD. Please can I have some advice, I don't count the money I put in at the moment I just put in anything <10p in my purse. Thankyou.

A lot of people have a holding pot. This pot is not sealed so you can put all the change in you think you wont need. Then on payday or whenever you feel you wont need that money you can transfer it into your sealed pot. you could always leave some in there just in case you're short. Its a fantastic idea :)

I potted £5.34 last night. £4 of that was two lovely £2 coins :)

welcome newbies :D i look forward to hearing the tales of your lives xx

Hello there, scuba! By golly, you've done very well indeed, especially from roadkill. :j
So I'm potting only what I can afford to Pot...which is £1.10 bringing me to a Grand Total of £17.28....

Very wise indeed, Helen, at least that way you won't get disappointed by needing to take any out. Well done, we'll make a saver of you yet, you'll see!

I've tallied up and added a little bit - now £6.66 - small beginnings. Need to find a better tin!
I love the idea of roadkill!!

Small beginnings maybe, MiMi66, but from little acorns mighty oak trees grow! £6.66 is a great start! :D

Save the best way for you, 41 and i know it, though you could get yourself a 'holding pot' (just any small pot) and pop anything higher in that, then when you know you won't need it, pop it in your sealed pot. At least that way it shouldn't affect your OCD but you'll still be able to save more when possible and remain happy. :grinheart

Sorry to hear about your OCD too, beccah, you also save the best way for you too. :)

Aha! Brilliant work in the end then, Gail!! ;)

haybel, don't you believe, Lynsey's tales, I've heard she keeps a dustbin in the middle of her living room..another in the bedroom - and you should see the one in her loo!!!!! :rotfl:Save well, girls, no matter what in!

Oh dear, mishmogs, you make me laugh out loud with what you say about that poor young German junge! I hope his parents aren't SPCers for your sake! :rotfl:

Excellently done, Modesty! Well done on the £10er win!! :T

You prove that friend wrong, ClaireS. She'll soon see you as a good saver once you become addicted to the habit.

Off to a flying start, PinkPepperPot, good for you.

A very surprising £3.66 in the pot for me today, result of a small mid-week shop.

You've not been for seemingly ages, little_sweetie, are you and DH ok?

Great minds thinking alike I see, Ruth. :D

Have a lovely evening, all, and a great day tomorrow.

I potted £1.40 today, trying really hard to save as August is getting closer and closer! My pot is starting to fill up now as it was sounding rather empty!
