  • Well, I've got a Doctor Who Tardis (husbands 'toy') as a pot at the minute as it's not easy to open lol but when I go back to work off maternity leave, I'll be pinching the big Nescafe coffee tin. They are massive.

The only problem is that I don't have much change like I do when I'm at work as I don't go out as much. Put some money in last night as went into town. Didn't count it but everything under 50p went in. :j

You're most welcome to join us, Techiescot. Welcome to MSE. It's lovely to have you with us. biggrin.gif Have fun saving and enjoy the banter. You'll find your number at the bottom of the list on post 5 of page 1. Please read through post 1 as it'll let you know exactly what to do with the challenge.

Please also subscribe to the thread by clicking on "Thread Tools" (lower green bar) and clicking "Subscribe to this thread"...or you may lose us! Same directions for popping your SPC No too.

    * Please pop your number on your sig, it helps a lot.

Techiescot, there are a number of tips on the 1st post (1st page) of this thread and hundreds all over the MSE Forum, but mostly you budget as much as you possibly can, then you save as much as is possible. If you see a way that you can not spend...save the cash and pot it instead!! ;)

Hi mumof3plusoh! Not see you for a few days, good to see you now though, and potting of course. :)

Oh my, haybel19, you are addicted, still, it's about the only good addiction there is...well, bar 1 of course! ;) Where was I, ah yes, well done and keep right on saving!

There you are at last, Emily!! 10p is better than nowt and they all add up.

That's wonderful, Observer, so their loss will be our gain..or should that be re-gain?! The latter for sure! Good news about your hand than, thank goodness for that as it sounded horrible! Mine will never be any better as I have CRPS (chronic regional pain syndrome); apparently because of the fall being on the forearm, it put the worse problems into my shoulder (it became frozen) and into my hand. So, now after 18 months of physio and surgical appts, they've decided it won't get any better! Mind you, it's tons better than it was so I'm not complaining. Anyway, good to see you back to normal. All the best with yours from mine! :rotfl:

You do as well as you can, galaxynicole, it's not a race or to see who's is the biggest , just do the best possible! ;)

On that note, DH & I are off up the wooden hill. ;);)

Have a really lovely weekend, everyone, just stay safe in the snow!

Good morning from a very un snowy cornwall.... once again we have been shortchanged and received extra helpings of rain... not a snowflake in sight! DD2 has decided that when she moves out she will make sure it is to an area that receives snow at least once a year !:j
She has been bugging me to buy her a vintage toboggan in a second hand shop, it's only £22 and would look lovely displayed in the outhouse on the wall, however, I'd rather have the money in the pot as we never get snow. Have managed to pot £1.55 from small nic nac shop and found 2p wedged under the edging of the laminate flooring in the living room..... tweezers out and hey presto 2p for the pot.
Using every bit of my non jealousnous to wish you warmth and fun playing out in the snow:rotfl:

Tell me about it thriftkitten! We just got 'almost' flooded again, I had to put my wellies on to paddle to the car yesterday! I think north Cornwall had some snow so your daughter may not need to move far!

Just reporting 45p in the pot 20p of which came from OH's side of the bed.

Off now to catch up on all the pages and pages of posts!

  • Hi wiggysgirl  it's ever so easy to join. Our trusty leader will come along soon and (now you have asked :D) will give you an SPC member number to pop on your signature. All she asks is that you read post #1 carefully to see what we are all about, then get yourself a pot and start saving! If you check in regularly you will be inspired, amused and probably go as mad as the rest of us :rotfl:but you will be saving... Welcome! Have fun, this thread is brilliant!

  • Oh crikey, I forgot to say what I came on here for...see what I mean wiggysgirl? :rotfl:

Well the snow here is thick (thriftkitten it's not all it's cracked up to be!) so I've slipped and slid to the village to buy milk and as much else as I can carry 'cos there are small flakes of snow still trying to fall :( DH has taken the car to work so I hope he can get back safely at 7pm. Anyway, I have potted a nice chunky 50p (my pot has a nice, covered-bottom sound now if you now what I mean :D) and some coppers into my cardboard tube. Happy with that....

    Stay warm everyone x
