No, iwilldoitthistime, you don't need to keep a running total, most of us prefer the surprise element. To the highlighted part, you'll save a fortune on saving lunch money!!!! :jAnyway you can save like that will bring hugs dividends! BTW, I love your penguin, he's gorgeous!

It always warms up a tad when the snow finally comes, Mini Zoo, and BTW, you put the star on in the same way as your SPC No..."Edit sig" from the "Quick Links" on the lower green bar.

Good day everyone,

Been AWOL for the past couple of days - holed up at home with a horrible flu. On the mend again :T!
The good news is that I am now officially off the cigs :beer:, although I do have an electronic one to get me through the cravings. I plan to put the money I would have spent on the cigs into my pot.

A very belated birthday wish to Miss Lily:bdaycake: I hope she had a great day.

Also, welcome to all the newbies and happy saving.

I love the snow so I am looking forward to the weekend. Bit of a novelty for me, coming from S. Africa where we never see the stuff!

Thanks so much for supplying all the info, Ruth, though I'm afraid I'd see that as a bit of a scam to craftily fleece the public! We've won 3 x £10ers since it began..never anything higher, so we won't be bothering now with all it would cost!!! That's obviously why they been showing so many clips of "what your money helps do" to gear us up! :mad: Thanks again, Ruth, at least hubby & I aware of it all now.

Good to see you, Susanne, sorry you've been rough, but marvellous news that you're off the ciggies!!!!! :j Do be careful that using an E-cig isn't too much like the real thing and lures you back!! I truly wish you well and quit myself 14 years, 3 weeks ago, cold turkey!!!! :j You have a lovely weekend also. We had a photography friend living in S Africa, they had snow just once and he took photos galore - for posterity I guess.

This week, I've managed to walk to and from the train station instead of using a bus a few times, so am potting the money I've saved (except one day when I bought a coffee at the train station due to missing my train)

I'm another who is done with the Lottery. I don't want to think how much money I've wasted on it over the years. Will also be potting the dosh that I would have spent on it each week.

£1.20 in the pot this morning, will prob be more in later as I went to the post office but im too toasty warm under my blanket to get up at the minute

Miss Lily has got a bloomin cold now :mad: and has a horrible red patch under her nose shes supposed to be going to a birthday party tomorrow but with all the snow falling im not sure if its still going to be on!

On a nicer note, came home to a big parcel that contained a £70 Divine Chocolate Hamper I won :j :j was full of lovely chocolatey (fair trade) goodness and a nice bottle of wine

Thanks Wyre ~ I did think about that but it's only LO that has school dinners and he doesn't eat a huge amount. Everyone else has packed lunches so I have food in for those (with 2 teenagers in the house it doesn't make much difference if they're at school/college or home!)

Thanks Sue ~ re-read the first post too but I just wanted to make sure that was ok.

LO is still very hot but has had lots of cuddles today, hopefully he will feel much better soon, thank you for the good wishes for him!
