OH keeps leaving me the smaller change from his pocket as he hates carrying it around - in the pot it goes. I think he thinks I'm a bit mad but is always a happy bunny when christmas comes and we don't have to find many pennies for all the presents.

I LOVE my pot even if it is an old bashed tin from last year all taped up!!!

You keep right on saving his cash, curly, so long as he appreciates it all at Christmas, you too of course ;), then it's all so worthwhile.

It doesn't matter whether pots are battered or sparkling new, so long as they can hold a LOT of cash that's all that matters!! :T

I'm so pleased to hear you're a bit better, little_sweetie, I guessed you were quite rough from what you said last week. I hope you're soon very much better. Don't get too cold!

You're ALL doing wonderfully well with your savings, sealed potters, stay focused with it and you'll be mighty happy at the end of November. :j

Thank you, Mini Zoo, a gold star for you too! :staradmin

    Hi everyone,

Hope you are all saving well and welcome to all the new potters *waves*

DreamerHelen, imo the point of this thread is to get us into the habit of saving so that when something comes along we can say 'hey that's not so bad, I can handle this' which is exactly what you did *cheers*. I was watching the tv programme called 'The Middle' the other day and the parents were in a tizzy about accidentally spending too much money on something, until they realised that years before they were thrown in a tizzy by spending far less. So they were getting better with money it just didn't seem like it right at that moment. That's all of us here, trying to get better and be prepared. If that makes any sense whatsoever....lol.

Anyway, I found an old pot when I was tidying up so adding all my pennies together I now have potted a grand total of £39.47. I hate uneven numbers, wish I could find 3p lying around. Even better if I could find 53p!!

    Have a great day!

Hi Jules in the Garden! (And everyone else *waves*)

Everyone is welcome and tbh this is a fabulous place to start, you'll never find a nice bunch! Sue-UU will be along soon to give you your number, but until then get finding and potting those pennies - everything adds up and we are all here to give you any support you need. I have one tip - subscribe to the thread as the email updates really encourage and remind you. (You can subscribe at the top of the thread - in the green bar under thread tools).

So a freezing day here but no snow as yet. I have one bar on the heating as Hubby doesn't want the room to be like a freezer when he comes home from work. Maybe with enough potting I will be able to afford to fix the boiler!! *crosses fingers*

Another £1 added so far this morning, change from buying bread.

    Have a great day all!!

    Hi,

I recieved a ceramic pot for my birthday 18months ago and the label told me if I only filled it with £2 then it would hold £1000 so that was my target (to have some money for our first baby).

Unfortunately, it got broken a couple of weeks ago so it was a nice surprise to find I had £326 in there which is now in a savings account!

I just wanted to say this is a brilliant idea and I will sort of join in as in I'll put any spare cash into my big bottle but I'm not keeping track of it- as I'm too lazy (and it's a nice surprise!)

    Yay Mr~Mrs and Laydeemel, welcome!!

Definately the more the merrier. I cannot say enough how much difference this thread (and the forum in general but mostly here) has made to my life. I never saved before. Always meant to but never quite got round to it. Now I can't wait to find something to put in the tins and it doesn't seem like deprivation or anything, just fun!!
