I didn't get paid enough in my Wages for Food so I had to break into my Pot and use most of the money in there....
And I am soooooooooo upset!! And thoroughly feeling sorry for myself....
I had nearly gotten up to £50 as well!!
Oh well, all I can do is start again (if I'm still welcome here)....I guess at least I can eat this Week....which is the main thing I suppose....
I hope you all don't mind me being here still...I know this is the second time I've had to break into my Pot....but with it being January it's a VERY hard month!! I'm determined that from next Month it will be better and I should be able to Pot a decent amount every week....
Really really really really really gutted
Oh well...Onwards and Upwards!! I'm starting my New Pot with a Declaration of £1.24 to start with....
Don't be sad. Be happy that you had the money in the pot when you needed it most. At least you had that money to fall back on instead of getting into debt or not eating. £50 is a big amount in such a short time so you should be proud of yourself
I have not been potting. I have also not been spending too much so that's good. I have however got some money in my holding purse to pot tonightTaking my niece for dinner tomorrow
excited.

Hey, come on Helen, we don't have sad faces here on SPC...well, not for long anyway. It's happened and you obviously needed the cash, as Ruth says - at least you had your savings to fall back on which is great.
.........and as Kerry rightly points out "Of course you are still welcome on this thread"
You were so chuffed you'd saved for the very first time, so be positive and proud and imagine how much more gutted you'd be feeling IF you hadn't saved!!! Cheer up, Helen, and look to the future and November 28th! Always remember too that we're a HUGE family here and we all :iloveyou:
How about having a "holding pot/purse" to keep it by you for such times - then what you don't goes in the SP.
Huge hugs, Sue xxxcrimson.addict wrote: »I have not been potting. I have also not been spending too much so that's good. I have however got some money in my holding purse to pot tonightTaking my niece for dinner tomorrow

Well done with the 'holding purse', Ruth, and you have a wonderful meal with your Niece tomorrow.
There are all kinds of amounts here folks, and whether it's a little or a lot that you're saving - the most important thing is - THAT YOU'RE SAVING!!! Keep it up and be so proud!Sue x

Hi Helen, I agree with all the other comments today...don't be sad, these things happen :kisses3: Perhaps you just need to try a different tactic like the 'holding pot' or perhaps set yourself less of a weekly target. If you've had to break in to your pot twice already you might be being a bit too hard on yourself. I only manage a few pence at a time but it still mounts up, just don't lose heart
Well folks, I'm back in circulation after a nasty bout of coughing, sneezing and a week of poor sleepI took the opportunity of doing some errands and a bit of shopping so 4 lovely shiny 5p's in the pot today (2 courtesy of parking machine kill
) plus 50p left over from my pocket money last week.
Stay warm everyone! Oh, and WELCOME to any newbies! x
PS It looks like a couple more items have sold on eB*y so I'll be potting that within the next few days :jSealed Pot Challenge #012
