Another £11 for me today and have spent this morning sorting out the mess left behind when I changed bank accounts! The Halifax have been pretty good, so I shouldn't really complain but it's just some direct debits get missed in the change over. Mind you I should be making £160 out of them by the end of the year what with the £5 a month and the £100 for switching, so that makes up for it.
girlatplay you can be my honorary wifey! We have 7 packets of cheese in the fridge now because I have given up completely. Some don't count apparently because they are for cheese on toast and the cheshire doesn't count as that's for crackers...which is a good description of the state of the fridge really.
Wentthedaywell I have used that solicitor before so I think that's why it was cheaper. The will was a silly price and the POA was only drafted not registered.
Have just gone into the kitchen and discovered OH funnelling Body Shop shower gel into empty shampoo bottles. She's getting very irate because the gel is really thick and it's only going through the funnel really slowly. She has now resorted to using a pencil and is yelling 'get in you b***er'. I shall leave you all with that scene!Pay off all your debts by Christmas 2025 no. 15 £0/69490 -
Hi eklipze - hope you don't mind me asking but how much does your overdraft cost each month? Would it be better to use the £915 to pay that off rather than put it an ISA?
Just a thought - happy to mind my own business..... : )SPC Member #112 :A Save £2k in 2014 # 160 :money:0 -

Wow, just realised that we are only half way through February and I have already worked 30 hours (contracted to do 32 a month!), just loads of work to do at my place of work. Going to be able to really bump up my savings total for this year so far at the end of the monthOrange_juice wrote: »Hey, can I join a bit late? Wow! £8K is a massive target for a student. I thought I was going for it with a 2K target. If I may ask, what do you study? And presuming you do a degree, do you find plenty of time to work in term time?Save 12K in 2013, #203.

Still haven't dipped in to my savings thought I might have over stretched things this month and other expenses (vet fees) came up but still stashed £920 away so yay!
Only 12 days till pay day lets hope I can make it to then and I will be hitting the £3k mark which is the most money I have ever saved in my life!!!Regular saver £200 Saving for emergency fund (£2000)
ISA £30 Saving for new clothes/ new laptop (£1000)0 -
Just totalled up and managed to save £1700 for end February (get paid on 15th of the month) what with extra hours and deciding to put my holiday fund into the pot too. I am worn out though with the extra work and went to bed at 8pm last night!
Will update front sheet too. My grand total of everything saved since I started is £20k but that includes 3 challenges over a few years! I paid off my mortgage too in 2009 before I started saving so its nice to see things building up. It can be done! Keep it up guys! Used to be in skid row with my finances when the kids were little and I feel a huge sense of relief not to be in debt and would happily live on fresh air not to be ever again! When people turn their noses up at my ancient stone age mobile phone I just smile and say its bought and paid for and costs me a fiver a month to run! Good luck.Save £12k in 2012 no.49 £10,250/£12,000

As I thought, my bursary wasn't paid in yesterday and no one in finance was answering the phones
. Will have to sort it on Monday, my absences were all approved but I'm wondering if I just missed the cut off for payment. Oh well it will be paid at some point, hopefully sooner rather than later as that pays for my petrol budget. Course is 40 mile round trip 4 x a week.
Pay day in 12 days at least!0
