If I get a £5,000 one with a few £4,000 the £20,000 will be achieved surely! Just feels a long way off so doing it in 2 and aiming for £10k first so I'm over 21% my way to target one!! Sounds better like that.
Some people here are doing fantastic already, I don't really get going until summer.
Forgive me for being curious but what sort of price work do you do to manage to be able to pull in 4-5K even in a few months of the year? I must be in the wrong job here!0 -
Would rather not disclose on open forum but I will say its in construction industry, and that pay scale, for those that work hard and earn it-not just turn up, it is alot more common than you may think. Had a great days work today, actually looking forward to a seat for a few hours and early night ready to repeat it tomorrow!
Payday tomorrow from side business...will be just a few hundred but it all adds up!! Some folk are doing so well, this thread is a great motivator and tracker of our successes over 2013. Lets keep it up savers.:eek:Living frugally at 24

I'd like to join in on this one, but have only just got round to my savings from January. I managed to save £2900, which is a lot more that I had expected, due to a birthday gift. My aim for 2013 was going to be £5000 as that is what I had budgeted to save, but I've revised that up by the extra gift so I'm aiming to save £7300. Well I would like to be a late joiner as well please with the aim of saving the full 12k. I have just sold my very uneconomical 4x4 and bought a very economical brand new car. I put a hefty deposit down but still financed 12k to get the best dealer discount of the list price. No early exit fees well £10 I think. The aim will be to save £12k and pay of the car in one year, apr on finance is 6.9%. Very motivated today and hope to be tomorrow.Smile and be happy, things can usually get worse!0

Am worried that I won't get much saved this month but we will see.
I know that this month won't show a high saving for me, I've tucked £100 away, but am waiting for the end of the month to see what's left. My birthday is coming up & my youngest sister moved to London a while ago so my dp & I are splashing out on a hotel for the weekend (there's no room to stay at my sisters). We've spent £200 on the hotel and transport alone, never mind the museum visits etc we want to do while we're there. My sisters birthday is the day before mine so we've already agreed to go out for a nice meal together. My MOT is next week too.
Fingers x'd we're pleasantly surprised by the end of the month though eh!£12k in 2019 #084 £3000/£3000

Do you know how many boxes of chocolate we now have in the house...15, yes that's right 15 boxes of chocolate!!! That's in addition to the five stashes of chocolate secreted in various rooms about the place.
OH went shopping today. I gave her £20 because she whimpered that £10 wouldn't be enough. She came out of the shop with five bags of shopping. 'I've found some bargains' she said looking a bit sheepish 'so I've only spent £30. I think I did well!' I reassured her that four more packets of cheese, yet more potatoes and cream cakes were indeed a bargain and shut up. I have now officially given up in my quest to reduce the shopping bill

Well on a day rate of £250 a day yesterday and today, i am now finished for the day, time to relax at home! Another days work to do on that same job next Saturday, then paid for it end of the day...should be able to use that to pay a couple of bills so more likely i can save a bit of my salary! Put another little sum of money over today, just to keep the amount growing so everytime i am on the laptop im closer to my targets.
Started reading Peter Jones book "Tycoon" last night, still a bit unsure about it but its taught me one or two things already, will keep at it and report back if any of it is relevant to this thread.
Also got a bet on the football today, if it comes in(slim chance) then i will be up around £200. Just felt lucky.:eek:Living frugally at 24

Thanks slowly fading, we should all pay £1 or 2 towards your contribution at the year end for something for you/a charity of your choice...£215 if we all pay a £1, better than nothing and that will be our good deed for the day when it comes.....just an idea!!:eek:Living frugally at 24
