Sniff sniff, I've just given my sister £800 :( she's in Oz and is struggling to find work so I've helped her out. Gutted my savings are back to £0 :(

How kind of you to help your sister. Family is so important. If you had not saved, you would not have been able to help her. Chin up and start again :D!

Congratulations bod! Bound to be a challenging month as well as a joyful one.

And well done nat21luv, you've done something to be proud of.

  • Wow, people are making a really good start to their savings this year. I just got a nice little tax refund from HMRC as a result of my SA. This too has gone into the savings pot. OH has also had a refund of his Car Tax from DVLA and once the cheque clears this will also go into the savings pot.

I am a bit out of sync with everyone due to the way that I work my finances so I am not going to do another update until the end of March so that I fall in line with everyone else.

Added £250 to my regular saver for Feburary. I've been so busy with new job (away from home during week) that not had chance to open another savings account yet. I've got roughly £1000 surplus sat in my current account that needs a home. Hoping to get this sorted before the end of Feb so I can add it to my total!

January total for me is £874... not great, but paid off my Christmas credit card bill so pleased about that.
  • Hi everyone
