£220 into the savings pot to get February started; not really one for this thread, but also chopped £2100 off nastyloan so the end's nearly in sight there, bit over £1600 to go and that one's dealt with. Done for the right reasons, but I hate loans :( looking forward to getting this one squished so I can get back on the saving horse.

Well done to everyone for great efforts so far in '13, brilliant :)

The cheese with the cranberries has gone!! Yay only three packets of cheese left but the chocolate hoard has grown in leaps and bounds.

No savings so far this month but got a bit of a surprise when I went to collect my prescription from the chemist. The pharmacist said I am eligible for a medical exemption certificate and gave me a form to fill out. If it all goes through, then I will save £10.40 a month in prepayment charges! Guess where that money's going!

Keep it up everyone and a big hi to all the newbies X

    Hello All,

Managed to get the year off to a decent start to the year with savings of £2,556 in January.

Stock market rise during January helped to increase the paper value of my share holdings, but I'm not going to declare anything shares related whilst it is only paper gains, as it could just as easily get wiped out the next day!

Have some NS&I savings maturing during February, so will get c.£800 of interest from that hopefully for the 3 years its been stored away. I was contemplating rolling the savings over for another 3 year period, but I think I might need the funds during the year and there are now penalties with NS&I for early maturity, so I am going to put it into an ISA for the time being.

Well done everyone with their savings, keep up the good work. :)

I am still on £1000, I have last month's salary to allocate still. I'm thinking £200 into my spending money and £500 into my driving lessons fund then whatever is left into savings.

I really need to off my bum and work out how much money I actually have ha ha.

Nat, it's a massive bummer that you're back to step one, but your sister will really appreciate it and if you hadn't had the savings... maybe you would have borrowed to help out and that'd be way more expensive. :T

Back reading now, congrats to everyone for your savings. : )
