Sharing everyone's enthusiasm for the new start here, with £270 (and 7 pence!) deposited so far. I'm obsessing with finding new ways to top up the savings to reach the goal - one lovely treat was remembering the two month break from council tax, and the credit refund from the old electric provider!

Ooh lovely, just the thread I need!

Could you put me down for the full £12000 please. Watching everyone's savings grow will hopefully keep me motivated.

As you can see, I'm new to this forum - it is great!

I just posted in the '£2013 in 2013' - I want to save through a money tin for my boyfriend's Christmas gifts and holiday spending money (hopefully going away next Christmas). I might not save that much through a money tin, but it is fun!

However, I also want to post here as my boyfriend and I are trying to save up in our joint account and our aim is £16,000 - £20,000. Life being life though, it generally never ends up being as much as you hoped so £12,000 into our savings would be ace!

We're saving up for when we move house. My house (he lives with me) is between breaking even and perhaps a small amount back equity wise at the moment which is depressing as there is over £35,000 off the initial mortgage (including deposit). The joys of buying at the wrong time! So...we want to save for when we move in the future to a family home and want to get a good pot ready so we don't rely on my house cashing in. Then, whatever we do get out of it is a bonus!

Good luck everyone and all the best for 2013 :-)
