  • Hi, new to saving. Hubby is self employed and I work in public sector so we don't earn a lot. We are going to save £300 a month in First Direct regular saver. So put me down for £3600.

  • I flaked out last year (sorry!) but do intend to go the distance in 2013!

Please put me down for the full amount, I really need to get that together to stand any chance of buying a house and this thread would be great to be part of :)

    Thank you!

What do people classify as no spend days? I have usually done it as literally no spend, so not using car or wallet at all, but I haven`t had many days where I have done that as I go out most days to classes with my little one!

  • I'm member 20 on this thread, target of £20,000. The first £10,000 of that is for "investment into my own business" apart from that I'm saying no more to where that is going. The next £10,000 will be saved and sitting in a cash account come 31/12/2013!! With first ever mortgage payment coming middle of January along with all the usual bills it will be a shock to the system to take all that on, saving £20k along since takes some doing.

Going to get off to a flyer, looking at £1,000 in January even though I only get paid once that month, normally twice a month. Will even out as 3 pays over March so will even itself over time.
