  • Hallo all,

This month is my "overpaying the mortgage" month. I have just returned from the bank and mortgage is another £4k+ lighter:j:j:j:j! Result!!

I have also managed to round up another £200 which I will add to my savings this month. Not much, but at least it is something. Will be back on track next month, hopefully, as I will be on holiday for a week in September, 4 birthdays in October and Christening in Germany in November. It just never stops ....... :D:D.

    Happy saving everyone,

My very generous aunt has just had some kind of investment mature and she's given me £300 as a gift towards my savings, so I've added that to my total :)

Payday next Wednesday too so they'll increase again soon.
    What will your verse be?

managed £570 thanks to a bit of overtime for August. Am really pleased. Hoping to reach my target by September and anything after is a bonus.

Keep up the good work everyone.

    Thanks again SF.

Also looking through statements I found an extra £140 that i'd paid in and forgotten about in June, so a small boost there too :D

Oh, blimey, i've just found £50 extra from July too :doh:must to better with my spreadsheet-keeping :)

So far i've stashed away £1604.14 for the month, making it my best yet, taking me comfortably past £7k. Would have been higher still but for a lovely anniversary weekend away with Mrs. L in Denmark. Terrific country and Copenhagen was great, but oh so expensive

Well done all on the progress.

Just checking in after a long time away from this challenge. I am going to have to leave it as I have only had 4 months paid work this year and am struggling to make rent let alone save anything.
    :(
Hopefully I can join in again next year and I wish you all good luck with your saving for this year's challenge.

A slow month with just £390 in the pot. Looks like I'll probably just hit £7k now in the year.

Sold some bits online and made a tidy sum of £30. Usually I would have taken it up the tip or a charity shop, but really liking gumtree and e-bay atm. Every little helps.

Also OP'd my mortgage by £500 which should help me be mortgage free sooner than I thought :)

Thanks for the updates SF. Much appreciated.

I'm out of the running too I'm afraid. What little I did manage to save I've had to buy oil with for the winter so it's all gone. Hopefully back next year in a better situation for long term saving.
    Well done everyone
