Excellent news Kerri that's a great start and Nat well done, £300 is a great amount, it all builds up.

I'm declaring today as there will be no more money to be made this month. In addition to the £300 odd I've managed to save, I've decided to put £50 away each month for a baby fund. This means that my budget is squeeeeeezed to the absolute maximum; I did a new SOA last night and realised that with all this saving I had £7.58 surplus at the end of the month!

So that's £383.11 for July yay!

edit: have upped my target to £4,500 eeek!

Although it is now July and I am more than a little late to the party, I would like to join in with this. I have been saving this year any way but had not set myself any real target amount. Having read most of the posts in this thread though, I'm feeling the urge to push myself and set myself a goal.

So, I have around £4500 already saved up to this month. I will now aim to get to £10,000 by December 2013 with an aim to join in the '12k in 2014' at the beginning of January, along with every one else. :) Thanks to every one on here for being so inspiring.

£500 for July, am now up to £4600 of my £6000 target and have beaten last year's total figure! Yay! I actually have about £200 extra this month but I'm not going to count it as I'm planning trips to Berlin and Greece in August and September :-)

    Happy Summer Saving everyone

  • Thread has got so quiet!! Great news here, paid for invoices so account should end the month at over £8,600!! Means iv saved over £3,000 in July, absolute delighted. That includes paying my road tax, credit card and all other bills that cropped up!! So now iv got to try and do that again in August to push me towards that £15k target before the bad weather appears. Got insurance due next month and possible holiday so might only be half the amount saved compared to this month, still well on track and happy with progress. Off the drink for aslong as possible, which is actually one of my main expenses, what a waste of money!!

Have put another £78 in today which takes me up to 78% of what I want to save. Had a few unexpected spends as son-in-law been in hospital and have been visiting every day plus helping with new school uniform expense etc for the grand kids while he cant work and this is likely to continue for August then hopefully back to normal.

Payday and another £609 declared, really struggled over summer with paying all the annual bills in last couple of months but fingers crossed that is 100% sorted now and we can begin saving more every month.

For the rest of the year we are hoping to put £500 each into the new house fund that along with the other 'pots' we save into should take us over the 12k mark. This year is flying.....Can't believe its our first wedding anniversary tomorrow!!!!!

Amen to that!! Road tax this month and insurance due middle of August!! Road tax has gone up, insurance come down alot since i turned 22 since last renewal and that extra year old + another years no claims has halved my insurance in a year. Still the company im with sent me a renewal at £515, went on their site and its down to £390! How about rewarding a bit of loyalty!! My renewal quote was going to be an extra £25 to change my address aswel so would have been £540 as opposed to cancel and start again its £150 cheaper. Makes no sense!

Congratulations for tomorrow, anything special planned? You are one of the only ones on this thread im sure is male!!

    Payday :D

£800 for this month, more than usual as I've just had to pay out tax and MOT in previous months.

    Now on £4,500 woohoo!

    Well done everyone :)

I think can surpass £7k if I don't spend too much at Christmas.
