Cydney - sorry to hear about your dad but happy for you on the news you are to be grandparents.

Just been to the bank and added another £120 this morning so now at 75% of my total.
    MARCH £62.38/250
  • Another £14 added into the savings today. I have booked for me and OH to go away for a few days from next Sat so most of this months wages will be used for that but still hoping to save something towards my emergency fund.
  • update for this month is a saving of £639 as I thankfully haven't had any major expenses (so far). I've had month after month of having to shell out for extra unforeseen spends such as a new cooker etc so its nice to catch up. Also done extra shifts which gets paid in weekly so it helps.

Keep it up everyone we are over halfway there!

    Balance 23.11.09 = £nil. :)
  • So far this month balance has gone from £5,497 at end of June to £8,790.38 as of today...got a couple of expenses left to come with road tax and fuel, should be ending the month at least £8,000 so looks like July iv managed to put away £2,503. Delighted but it just makes me more eager to get same again next month so be upto £10,500 end of August!! Roll on!

  • Just £250 this month (plus £300 in my interest free credit card account). I've got a £500 credit card bill to pay, though part of this is for annual broadband costs in advance for the year, which saves me money overall.

I've also got a week away, so I suspect I may be dipping into my savings to pay for all those ice creams! :D

Hoping for £300 this month, a poor amount I know, but I have to book a hotel and save for my car insurance due in September. I'm away the week it's due so will need to sort it before I go.

Doing appallingly bad but I really have been trying, not even halfway to target.

Dad has just let me know he's giving me £4450 when we need it for our mortgage deposit as that's what he just paid to my sisters creditors :D

So I'm finally off the starting block, £4450/£12000 not entirely sure we'll make it to the £12k but I have been killing the debt

  • Kerri thats a fine bit of news for you, if i had help getting foot on ladder would have been able to purchase somewhere a little bit better! Nevermind saving long term for a farmhouse type place, only ever seem to be up for sale once a year around here unless you want to pay well over the odds for one already in immaculate condition. Im at about £8,600 now, considering taking out £1,000 to try and build it into a bigger savings pot then add it back in at the end of the year. Iv two invoices out for money due to me, the date for payment one has requested is the 2nd of September....Not sure if i should go along with that(at risk of looking like a pushover) or drag my heals for earlier payment(and risk losing future work)

Either way looking foward to getting finances back on track now July has been a really good month an pushed me right through the halfway point(im aiming for 15k by year end) Even considering not going on holiday in August purely to keep earning and saving and building on what iv started. House expenses have been extremely high this year as got the whole place sorted out now and when we moved in all we owned between us was a bed and tv!!
