  • thanks youngbusinessman and justincrediblegillespie, we dont earn huge amounts but live quite frugally and shop around. The thing is, its not that I am greedy for money but hubby has had some health problems and wants to retire so we are just trying to make life a bit easier for later on, also have 2 kids trying to help with studying and have always saved for them, luckily they are frugal too! I havent spent it, the total is still squirrelled away in the bank ;)

Monthly total savings for this month is £2988.51. I know there are still a few days left of the month, but I am going camping/kayaking with some friends for a few days as of tomorrow and dont need to buy anything else for the rest of the month, and not expecting any more income.

If you want to continue to smoke without the expense eklipze, why don't you try tobacco thats what I did, I was spending a fortune on packets of cigs. My preference was JP blues and now I smoke Amber Leaf tobacco. I know I really should go off them but I dont have the will power yet :(

So frustrating trying to save for a wedding when it only goes up tiddly amounts each month. Been engaged nearly 3 years now and still nowhere near the target. Still, I have to keep telling myself it's not good to start married life in debt and think of all the interest I will save by paying it myself.

Not quite as impressive as some but £470.94 added in March. Really inspiring to see what others are managing to hide away each month. I must be in the wrong job :D

Hi tales17 - can you tell me more about this? i am pretty techno phobic lol, so can you tell me how to find the local sale pages on facebk? i am okay with gumtree. thanks for the hints! i think these will work better for me. With the postage the way it is now, i just cant believe anyone makes a profit from random bits and bobs they have. what are friday ads??

pay day too but we have to see how my dentist bills fare!

    Hello!

Friday Ads is another site like gumtree, link is

    http://www.friday-ad.co.uk/

Assuming you are a member of Facebook, all you need to do is search "for sale" with the name of your local towns or areas in the search box, then join the group or page and off you go!

Some groups may be closed so you may need to wait for administrators to approve you first and always read the rules of the group as some may limit the number of items you can post!
