Finally sorted out cancelling my roadside cover (i tend to phone my dad instead of the AA) so saved £68 there. Also cancelled my contents insurance as the renewal was double this year (no claims!!) Have until 31st to find a good deal.

Realised my utility bills were estimated and had been since June (oops) Proper readings given and still £82 in credit - yay!

Blimmin OH needs dental work at £176 and is taking £150 on a weekend away next month (i said no especially as expecting baby no2 but he hasnt listened :( ) bank cards are being removed from him so hopefully the savings will start to grow!

At least next month the new 944L tax code should mean I pay no tax. Pension contribution will go up slightly so will probably cancel one another out. Oh well 1% payrise to look forward too.

  • I haven't added anything to my savings for March yet, but I eagerly await payday. Amidst the news of increased unemployment in the UK today, my £2000 savings goal has just become more achievable as I have just been given a 16% pay rise, completely out of the blue. Really wasnt expected after I asked for, and got a 20% rise in January. Delighted :D

Hope everyone else is doing well :p

hello, haven't spoken much, not much to report until payday comes really! I keep doing online surveys but I don't do that many and I never seem to qualify for most of them! Did sell something on e*ay the other day for £10ish which I got for free, so that's always a bonus :) keep up the great work everyone! We will get there! :)

    Youre a fisherman aren't you YB?! :D

I'm having a spell of no spend days, I set a meal plan for the next 12 days so shouldn't need to get anything, perhaps milk but that's it. I can't afford to spend any money until the beginning of the month otherwise I'm dipping in savings. Hopefully next month I can put away £1k. Having a short break to London the end of next month and managed to find a hotel(travellodge) for £50 for 2 nights and cashback too! Any spending money needs to be made rather than taking it out my income, gives me something to aim for.

Managed to transfer over £350 to savings after payday yesterday, was aiming for £550 but I bought myself a Kindle Fire HD and renewed a magazine subscription. :( Going to aim for quite a few no spend days this coming month as I haven't let myself much to play with for April!
  • Well after doing some sums...could maybe get another £600ish away this month and aiming for £1,500 next month! So that would put me upto £5,100 by the end of April leaving me 8 months to find £15,000! May-September are my highest earning/lowest spending months so should be able to crack on them months and get £2,000 away PCM I'm hoping!!! Getting back into exercise(got everything I need for it at home) so it's more or less free! Brilliant hobby to have :)

Eaten out a lot this month (3x a week) and had a couple nice weekends away at hotels/spas. Booked another hotel getaway with the girlfriend for may (but paid for it this month - gives me something to look forward to and this months been good).

Saved £2561so far after all outgoings. Still maybe due some more comission/sales from £500 challenge, but pretty happy with this month so far.

Need to book summer holiday soon, so not sure when im doing that or where im going yet but that may mean that April will take a hit.

Thriftyfashionista - Shame about the collision but as long as no one was hurt - vehicles can be fixed far more easier than people.
citizen kitten - debt free. Well done you must be so proud and relieved.

Nice to see some good amounts been saved.
Have paid £200 into savings today which takes me to 54% of my target this year.
    MARCH £62.38/250
