I've now 2 saving accounts set up. Both allow to save £250 a year. The plan will be to save that in both to get to to target. so thats £6k sorted, just another £2k to save. Hopefully cutting back on spending and selling what we don't need and the interest.
  • i and the wife would like to join for £6000 we have a baby due just before christmas so good motivation there
  • Hi slowlyfading,

Can I please get involved as well. I will go for the target of 12k. Saving for a deposit next year :j

    Many thanks, Chris.
    Saving for a :www: deposit.

  • Thanks for clarifying Slowly (and Girlatplay! :) ) - I'm in a similar boat to Quintwins in that I may not have it in the bank at the end of the year but will hopefully have spent it on a nice new house deposit :T
However, there's no saying that will have happened by the end of the year, so I'll still join the challenge as best I can :)
Have a separate bank account aside, and ready to go in January :)

I'll sign up for £12,000 too. Does it count if you reduce your debt by £12,000?
  • Thank you Slowly Fading for the challenge.
Could you put me down for €5000 please?

I'm a bit nervous about that figure, as I have never saved that kind of money before.
Also I am still trying to get debt free, but at the end of the day, I live in a very rural area, and I NEED a reliable car to get around in. There is NO public transport system! I amn't even sure that my 2001 car will make it til the end of the year, but fingers crossed!
I am also doing the Baby Fund Challenge (€3k) and an emergency fund saving challenge (€300) on GothicRockChick's thread so €5000 on top of this is a challenging aim for me, but I will give it my best shot!:j
    Debts: Credit Card: €6000 ---> €5050 Feb 25 \ Overdraft: Step 3/100
Savings: FF Fund: Step 23/100 \ CU: 3755/4000
  • I'd like to join please, I'm another newbie!
I managed to save £7,700 this year which I never thought I'd be able to do so I'd like to aim for £10,000 next year.... a little bit scary but hey ho,no point in doing something if it doesn't challenge you right??

    Thanks
  • Very well done Scottish Lassie! £7k is a huge amount! £10k is even better tho ;)

    Roll on 2013!
