Righto, I've updated the front page and we're up to 225 members! I've also updated the spreadsheet - everyone is doing so well!

And, our target for this year is now upto:
    £2,000,813.00 :D wouldn't that be amazing...?!

Keep it everyone, you're all awesome :D

Thank you SF, can you spell my name right, 90% also call me Capri by accident, keeps making me want to buy an actual Capri drink! :j

    Excellent job with thread!

WOW :j :j That would be just amazing if we made it! I do like saving in packs :)

Quick question (probably obvious....) what do the colours relate to beside the percentages on the spreadsheet?

Thanks for all your work in keeping the thread going - it's fab :A

They're supposed to change colour when you get to a certain percentage, but it doesn't work very well - not sure why!

Can I join this? Didnt realise it wasnt only just for £12k - I know im a bit late.

Original goal was to save £10k, but due to the £500 challenge im doing an already making just under £2750 in profit within 2 months, I have decided to up that. Also, due a payrise soon, owed a lot of commission from work and realised(and forgot) it's my 21st birthday towards the end of march, so have decided to raise my yearly saving goal to £20,000. Is the saving including interest from banks?

Put me down for £20K please, reason being £15K I could do without much effort, £17500 is probably very realistically achievable, but I think it would be good to try and make myself work hard and save £20k.

    Hello All!
How quickly this month has gone by! Delighted that the 'Paying yourself first' is working out for people. All of my $$$ slips away from my hands for kids, bills etc etc if I don't get really strict with myself and bung a few bucks into a savings account as soon as I am paid. It is the end of the tax year in Canada, so I scrimped and saved until I made it to $1000, which I transferred into a special retirement planning account-half in my name and half in DH's. Mind you, the day after I did it, he was a right PITA, so I was tempted to bang on the bank's door and ask them for the money back!
The baby continues to do well, just starting to smile and trying to shrug himself along on his activity mat like a little caterpillar!
Living on Mat Pay is starting to bite and I notice that the cc's are starting to rise. Some scumbag skimmed my card and I suddenly noticed a lot of entries for a mobile company on the East Coast. The lowlife actually did me a favour as I was forced to take a couple of NSDs - ha ha! Chip and Pin for cc's was only introduced to Canada in the past 18 months...thought it was supposed to be safer and cut down on fraud?!?
Two of my kids went on a cool field trip, which cost some money to deck them out in the correct cold weather gear, but was well worth it for the experience. They caught a bus and a gondola up a local mountain and went snowshoeing at the top. They also saw some bears that had been rescued and then released back to the wild. It has been drizzling all week here, but it was snowing quite heavily the higher they went - beautiful!
I started off the month really frugally, cooking up a storm in the kitchen, freezing stuff for future meals, prowling through the supermarket for reduced price items etc...and then after a particularly tricky time with DH and eldest (stroppy) teenage daughter, I packed a bag, popped the baby in his car seat and drove away to a hotel for a couple of days...just to get some headspace. Does anyone else find they sometimes have to go on a mad splurge ? Anyhoo I came back recharged and much happier two days later to find DH very appreciative of all I do and all the kids thrilled to see me. Best way of spending the Child Benefit ever- ha ha!
Well sorry for harping on. This month's aim is for me to look again at alternative income. I am going to buy a couple of room dividers and put two beds down in the basement suite, so we can act as a host family for a couple of international students. We've done it before and we have met some really interesting people ! Have a good month all!

Gone through my budget for the month over morning coffee, and looking a little lean - tucked away £559 from the March paycheque which takes me almost to the 20% point in this challenge (need to find £3 down the back of the sofa to get there :) ) but doesn't look like there will be anything else until the £300 regular saver goes in on the 28th. Not a disaster by any means, but each month i'm slipping slightly further behind the pace for hitting the full £13k. Need to get my thinking cap on and trim the budget again :)
  • Back on track after purchasing my new car last month.

£1200 for me this month making £1820 in total so far this year.

    Hi all,
latest on us is £1500 saved in total for Jan and Feb.
will have to try a bit harder!
  • If everyone hits their targets except me, we wont make £2 million.....so i need to make sure i dont let everyone down, i will do it!! Away to shift over a few £££ so should be upto £2,500 out of £20,000 target!
