  • I'm declaring £297.64 for Feb, a lot less than I was going to save but I've been paying back a very generous family member for money lent some time ago, said family member was happy with the repayments we had previously agreed but thought I should real

We will be saving towards doing up the house/emergency fund for 2013/14 then after that we'll be paying off the mortgage. Can't wait!

This is exactly my plan - although our "doing up the house" savings will potentially go on for 3-4 years. Currently saving up for new double glazing. That will be followed by a new bathroom, then landscaping the gardens and possibly a small extension and a downstairs loo.

After that we will be decorating each room and replacing all the cheap flat pack furniture that has been falling apart for years with good quality handmade stuff that'll hopefully last years.

And then I'll become a mortgage free wannabee :)

Another £100 into the share options and SIP. A £500 MOT bill plus battering away at the credit card means no 'proper' savings till May(ish). I still reckon I can make the big 10k though :D

Oops. Was offered some half sovereigns at a remarkably reasonable rate. Just couldn't say no....:o

But still, it's another £650 in savings :)

I've started March off to a flyer by already putting £75 into savings roll on pay day so I can get the rest across.

This is my first month - and still a bit freaked out that I've committed to saving a specific amount for the first time ever

I've sorted money this month and reporting £2400 as my first post. I won't have anything like that for the rest of the year unfortunately, think I've rationalised and re-organised as much as I can!

I'll have a better idea at the end of March if my £4000 target is achievable - fingers crossed :T

And thank you to everyone who posts on and runs this thread. I feel like my savings are very tiny in comparison to others.....but it does keep me motivated :)

    Hi everyone

Don't get a chance to post as much as I would like but enjoy reading everyone's updates. Still participating in the challenge. My total for February is £898.70 taking me to a total so far of £1980.92 (about to update front sheet). Pretty pleased with how I am getting on so far. I may be having a big spend that I hadn't intended on as I am considering getting orthodontic work. Has anyone else here experienced wearing braces as an adult??

Keep up the good work everyone.

Righto, I've updated the front page and we're up to 225 members! I've also updated the spreadsheet - everyone is doing so well!

And, our target for this year is now upto:
    £2,000,813.00 :D wouldn't that be amazing...?!

Keep it everyone, you're all awesome :D
