  • Everyone is doing really well!

I've saved £610.31 this month. From using the 'pay myself first method' I almost doubled the amount I saved from my salary this month compared to last, so thank you to those who discussed that :)

I've just booked a holiday for the end of March so the next two months might see me make much less progress savings wise. I will need to work out a feasible monthly target so I don't get left behind. I think most people use monthly targets but if anyone doesn't I do recommend them! If you work out how much you need to save each month it is helpful to see how to achieve the target overall (even if you need to juggle the amounts month by month).

Off to update the spreadsheet :)
  • Ok so pay day has arrived and still have the money left over from last pay day and possibly the payday before which I havnt saved yet :D £1300 to go into savings tomorrow
    £3,950/£12,000 2013 saving challenge
  • Pay day at last. Managed to have some money saved over from last month which is a bonus, so the total for this months is £1000...not saved this much in a month for a long time! :D

  • I have managed to keep, from Feb, a MASSIVE £25 :P this puts me to £150, nowhere near on target, but wasn't expecting to be until April tbh. In a sec I am going to stick some money over into the savings, but with the expectation that it will be used at the end of the month as my pay got messed up so I'm about £250 short this month. Not expecting a single penny left in at the end of March, so will be proud of anything remaining!

Will go and update spreadsheet and sig now :)
  • February is done and a total of £1,000 into it again this month. Nicely on target, long may it continue!
  • This thread has inspired my gf and I to double our current £500 a month savings to £1,000!

Given it's nearly March I think £10,000 is a more realistic total for us :)
  • Managed to squirrel away another £50 this month. Set money aside for my contact lenses and found 2 unopened boxes! Nice little surprise!

    Woohoo!

Off to update my sig ;)

You made me feel emotional too. ((((Hug))))

    Thank you :o:)

    February's target = £333.333333333...
(I also do the monthly target thingy to work out where about on track I should be)

    February's actual = £635.96 :D

I don't expect every month to be like this but I am very pleased with the way things are right now.

Off to update form and siggy :)
    Mortgage at 12/07/2022 = £175,000
    Mortgage today = £161,690.76
    300 271 payments to go.
    House buyout fund £21,000/£40,000
  • Drip drops of savings here with me! I have not worked for the last two months so have been scraping the barrel as far as money saving goes!

I love that people are going beyond their targets. I have reduced mine to be more realistic, the thinking is anything else I make is a bonus! woop woop! Can't believe it is the end of Feb already...where has it gone?! :)
