I would have thought a certificate confirming your vasectomy would go down a treat......
...or am I just getting too old and cynical?0 -

My DD, then aged 2, once crawled into our bedroom roaring... Oh had told her it would be great if we could get a lie in the day before....:rotfl:
I have a husband who does the flowers and jewellry and pulls his weight too. Rare specimen, but they do exist!I lost my job as a cricket commentator for saying “I don’t want to bore you with the details”.Milton Jones0 -
I never got anything for my first 2, neither did my mum, but she did get something for her third which I thought was quite nice. Instead of an eternity ring, she was given a Russian wedding ring (not sure my dad knew they are traditionally wedding rings as they'd been married nearly 20 years at that point) anyway, he liked the fact that it was 3 rings interwoven. For him it signified the 3 children they'd had together, but for you it could signify the 3 of you? You can get them with stones etc if you want, or just plain bands. They can be as cheap or as expensive as you'd like0 -

Wow thanks for ALL the responses! I am offline for a few hours and come back to all this!.. thanks for all the comments and ideas.
Certainly "pulling my weight" is a dead cert and I won't be going shopping for presents after the baby is born, (although I have been told I will have the responsibility of going and getting some clothes as we don't know if were having a boy or girl).
I will definitely get some flowers.. maybe some small ones for the hospital, and a big bouquet at home.. although this will be depending on how it goes and how long she is in hospital for!
I like the look of the rings, although I might go down the necklace route. I want something more sentimental more than anything, but also special and something that can be treasured. also the necklace or bracelet will be better in that I don't have to worry it fitting!
thanks again,

Eternity rings are not traditional, that's a modern thing. Traditionally, eternity rings are given much later in a marriage/relationship.
I think anything would be much appreciated. For me personally, it would be a heartfelt card or written note, but jewellery is also a lovely idea. It needs to be to your wife's taste though. I wouldn't wear a Pandora bracelet, but a Links friendship bracelet or some diamond studs would be perfect.0 -
Can anyone suggest somewhere good for Jewellery? I know a lot of the high street ones are either a rip off or poor quality for the money£2008 for 2008 club No. 286

It depends on what you what Mr P but if you want something sparkly then Blue Nile are good. You buy online but you get to know the exact size, cut and clarity. Beware you have to pay customs duty, though.0
