Hi, Gray-Fox,
I've had no issues with speed drop-outs. But if bazbarrow wants to post back as to what he has been told the specific problem is, I'll help him get some REAL help from BT. And UK based, too.0 -

Oh please tell me where as every time I ring BT it's always a foreign call centre. Wonderful if they can help but strange how you end up being passed to a UK call centre when you have a difficult problem.0 -

Hi nickcc,
The Indian call centre staff only get the minimal amount of training to answer the phone, and even then they just read from a script.
To get UK based help, from experts, just contact the BT Moderation team with a link back to this thread -
https://bt.custhelp.com/app/contact_email/c/4951
and they'll get the relevant UK peeps to call you back. And they are very good at what they do.
It can them take up to three working days to respond, but once they take hold of your problem, they won't let it go until it's solved.0 -
Thanks VisionMan will certainly give it a try as my Daughter has had her speed reduced to 10 Mbps after being converted to Infinity. Hopefully all will go well tomorrow when the engineer calls, already had two emails and two phone messages to ensure I'm at home, hope he turns up0

Well, nickcc? How did it go?0 -

No problem with the installation, took about 45 mins as the engineer had to make some wiring changes in the loft. Carried out speed check before and after with wireless and Ethernet. Download before 15.9 Mbps after 20 Mbps (wireless) 29 Mbps (Ethernet). Upload before 1.2 Mbps after 9 Mbps wireless and Ethernet. Thought download for Ethernet would have been closer to 40 Mbps as the fibre JB is only 200 metres away but seems to be what the engineer expected. If I'd have paid extra instead of getting it for free I'd have been disappointed but can't complain as I'm getting much faster uploads and double the download speeds.0 -
Glad you got sorted! Nice one.0

Hey, i just ran into a little problem getting my cheap BT ifinity2 so i figured i would post here insted of making a new thread see if anyone can help.
Bit of backstory in july/aug we got the phone call asking us if we want to upgrade to BT ifinity option1 and it seemed like a good idea at the time. I did a little research and found out the package isn't suitable for us (heavy users the family watchs alot of TV/Movies online) so i phoned up and canceled the order and asked for everything to be restored previously (which they messed up so had to deal with that when the bill came in.).
Well the next day after the cancelation i phoned up about getting BT infinity option2 i spoke to a nice woman and she offered us a discounted rate of £17 but because we were not near the end of our contract she couldn't do it their and then and told us to ring back in January. So January comes around and i phoned up after 45mins i get put through to the correct department and the gentleman informs me that he can no longer do that but insted offers me the discounted price if £24 pound and assured me this was a substantial discount and the best i was going to get.
Personally i feel abit cheated that i get offered a discounted price preiviously for being a loyal BT customer (almost 30years now) to getting something which is not even 10% discounted rate when our current broadband is at a really good discount.
If anyone has any suggestions / help let me know as we would like to upgrade just not for the additional £10 pound a month.0
