The install happened to today and it all went flawlessly. Unlimited Infinity 2, with 57Mbps, and all for only £13.25 a month. Tops!

Hi CE,
Infinity 1 = up to 38Mbps and a limit of 40GB per month
Infinity 2 = up to 76Mbps and unlimited usage.

I believe the BT Home Hub 2 was the last to support a BT Broadband Talk phone 'line', so this upgrade (which requires the BT Home Hub 3 and the Infinity box) will lose me my second phone line.Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0

£30-odd? REALLY? Who's your provider and what package are you on, southern84?0 -
I got the letter too but as my contract is about due for re-newal i enquired as to how much it would cost, to be informed that my discount would be no-where near what i'd get for normal broadband. I told them until it is the same cost, i am happy how it is. Isn't it a coincidence that I got the free upgrade a few weeks before my contract is due for re-newal. :A0

Hi leckl, did they say how much it would actually be? Because I know some BT Vision users who pay as little as £14 a month for unlimited BT Infinity.0 -
Infinity 2 requires fibre optics to your property and not a junction box a few hundred metres away. One of my neighbours has just gone for it and considerable underground work was required. I've just signed up for infinity 1 at my existing contract price of £10 per month, looks to be a good deal with no extra charges for length of existing contract (12 months).0

Hi nickcc,
I've posted a link above, in post #23 as to exactly what BT Infinity 1 & 2 are. And it also gives info on the service your talking about, too. Which is known as Infinity FTTP (fibre to the premises) which gives speeds of up to 160Mbps, for £35 a month.0 -
Hello VisionMan
BT told me that the max speed I could get on existing wires was 38 Mbps due to the distance from the Fibre JB so I would have to opt for Fibre feed direct to my home if I wanted a faster broadband.0
