Maybe when am debt free!!! Good luck with the pasta shells!!! I will open my last pack of rice cakes in sympathy today!!!

Learning2Budget... sorry you've been feeling low... Whenever I feel down I try and remember to look at all the things I do have in my life... the simple things... food, shelter, warmth... running water, a hot shower... clothes... slowly - I start to feel better... wealthy in many ways... and my mood will often lift.

Planning on an NSD today again - although have to attend a work function where there will be a bar... can i be strong and just order a tap water?!?!? I will try!!!

Good luck for today everyone!!! Will check in later on...

    ;)

Was planning on an NSD today but had to nip down to the shop in coffee break to buy more anti-perspirant as I had just ran out and got a wee bit of a sweat problem at the moment (sorry if TMI) and didn't want to subject my fellow officees. Not sure if it's my hormones but sth def changed after pregnancy. Hate it. Anyway that should be my only spend today, hated ruining a NSD for that.

An unplanned NSD for me today due to snow. Was planning to go out at lunchtime for social thing but no one can face the battle around the roads so staying in. £25 saved plus I was going to get some food shopping etc as I was spending anyway. That can wait a bit longer.
Managed to pay off 3% of my debt (well the mortgage as its the last debt i have but don't get excited, mortgage tiny now so that sounds a lot more impressive than it is!)yesterday due to this challenge and should possibly be able to chip off a bit more at the end of the month

Thanks Ninja for a great challenge. Well done on making the newsletter......that might help you recruit a few more for January I reckon!
  • Have managed 3 NSDs so far - was tough though!!!!! Overspent a bit on my xmas budget now so need to readjust other budgets to fit as there is no extra money anywhere to cover (well none that I'm prepared to use anyway!!!!)

Checked my lottery ticket from Friday today and although it wasn't the 27 million I was hoping for an extra fiver for my money tin is more than welcome :j.

Have decided this xmas is going to be an alcohol free one for me - cheaper and no hangover to contend with (may sneak a cheeky glass of wine xmas day courtesy of my parents) so I have been to Asda and bought some bottles of shleor today - looks and tastes like wine without the alcohol and only £1 a bottle.

Going to Costco soon to have a nose round and check out some prices - see whether bulk buying some items will be worth the large initial outlay for savings in later months - loo roll required here so might check that out first. Have a feeling my loft will soon look like a supermarket stock room!!!!!

Gotta dash to pick up my lottery winnings :D:D:D

    Hi folks

Hope you are all well and not to cold. Take care in the snow won't you - Kat, I hope you are ok? It is sunny and cold here in Derbyshire. No snow yet for us.

Yesterday was a spend day for me as I went to an NCT meeting at a pub and bought drinks. On the plus side, we did plan to have tea there but then decided not to and ate at home so my night out was cheaper than planned :)

Day off work today and feel rubbish with a cold so not been very productive. I have bought a couple of (planned) xmas pressies online though so again not a NSD i'm afraid. Managed to order them from Amazon without being tempted to buy something for me while I was at it though so quite pleased with myself!

Should have a NSD tomorrow. Still not needed to put fuel in so might have to do that but nothing else.

Thought I should really check in. Today will be my 3rd NSD or will it be my 4th? I had to spend £15.00 on medication on monday to fuel my horrible cold - does this count as a spend or NSD Kat?
Its the works christmas party on friday - all paid for by lottery winnings may allow myself a spend of £10 but plan to make that back on musicmagpie or whatever its called. I wont be drinking as I have a medical and fitness test for police specials next monday so have to be at best and not risk alcohol in my body.
Supposed to be going out for a birthday on 15th but not going to be drinking alcohol so should save money here OH seems to be in aggreement about this - maybe OH getting on board now i hope, then going from leicester to Cambridge to see auntie and cousins for pre christmas knees up - this will be a NSD as mums OH is driving :j. Car is in for MOT on xmas eve - but this hopefully shouldnt be a major spend.
Petrol £60/£150, Food £15/£250 - should come in on budget for this.
Sorry for long post - thought I better come and update otherwise would have an angry Kat to deal with :A
  • Bonjour all.

Snow day cancelled both my coffee's with friends and weigh-in for the baby. She is currently fast asleep in my bed, I'm in my PJ's on the sofa and OH is playing games on the PS3 as he has the day off.

So NSD #4 by default (I was paying for coffee with a gift card I have anyway)

Tomorrow will be an NSD as I am at work for the day & have plenty of munchies to take with me. £40+ in my pocket for that too!

Kat - Just a thought with the pasta shells, but have you tried adding some cheese and worcester sauce? Or an extra tin of tomatoes and some oregano? Pasta soup? Lol.

Annie my mum is always spending ridiculous amounts on me and DD. I'm a very lucky girl! My older sister is quite well off, as is my bro, and my other sister is MIA - she lives like 2 miles from my mum but has ignored us all since 2009. Go figure with her, but mum feels the need to spend on me to make up for it.

First 0% credit card payment came out today. So nice to see the balance reduce by the full £50 paid in!!!!

My mother in law calls this Broth or soupy pasta - shes Italian and can change any pasta dish into something yummy. Best served with crusty bread! She sent me with a flask of the above mentioned soupy pasta- still have enough left for tomorrow - so wont need to use any food from home for lunch.
