great start to my day... dropped the bike after getting caught in a horrific snow storm and returning home.. thankfully dropped it outside the house. Damage caused that will have to wait until Jan to fix.

  • HELLO CAMPERS!!!!

What a day! I am alive, having fallen over on the bike like a lunatic and ended up sprawled over my own road at 0600.Nearly buried in snow by the time I managed to get up again it was coming down that hard and fast - its snow joke! ( get it )... moving on...

I parked up, went inside, tidied my room, made tea, had some toast, put my hair in heated rollers, hugged the puddy-tat and took my time getting to work. Now stuck here until 1800... however I have a lovely boss and he was super understanding about my katastrophic adventures - :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

So NSD for me. I managed to wing an early shift tomorrow in order to get back from work, get the bike out if the snow has gone and get my sorry bum to Mr T for stocks.. I have to cater for myself a little during this weekend away and want to make sure I have NO temptations when stuck in expensive train stations or in the middle of no-where with just a corner shop available...

Lilt you sound like you are having a SUPERB day!!!. Let me know if your mother ever needs a substitute daughter to splurge on I need a new indicator - :rotfl:. I'd LOVE a snow day though - pj's and tea!! I am out of cheese for my paste and was going to suffer in silence (:rotfl:), I have sweet chilli sauce in my work drawer though.

MancMan your MIL will recognize my dish as nothing but an abomination - and that's without the sweet chilli...and please tell me why your MIL is sending you sschlooop? Are you being naughty and milching of someone else in order not to go over your spendature...? However medications don't count so it was an NSD however is medication really needed for Manc-Man-Flu ( :rotfl:).. You sound like you have a super planned out NSD and big YEAH for the OH getting on board - maybe she licks the "not drinking" part..:p.. I could never get angry with you don't worry... unless you do something REALLY naughty! Although good luck with your Specialling - where is that if you don't mind me asking?

I listened to the news this morning - something about someone in government saying the "age of austerity" may be extended until 2018 or something like that- ( I was listening hard). MAY be extended - very good. For us its a way of life right .. bunch of muppets the lot of 'em. Gimme that job and I will run this country for you - from the back of my bike ( promise to keep it upright and with puddy-tat tucked under one arm )...

PurpleJay - well done on the Amazonian strength ( I am on fire here ).. and sorry you feel grubby - is this the dreaded vomiting bug or just the flu.. not fun either way so I hope you have a hotty-water-bottle with you..

StGood - well done on your lottery win, every little helps. I love Shleor.. love it love it. As a tee-totaller I am please to see store getting more savvy with exceptionally lovely "grown-up" style non-alcho drinks. Although why I still get served with a tumbler I don't know...:o.. let me know about the loo roll though and whether I could get it on the back of my bike. AP was doing 18 rolls of good quality for £3.99.. should got more...

The_Cat - an unexpected NSD is not a bad thing though! Anything chipped away is great!! Although please don't mention January yet - you're starting to scare me....:p

Only through threads like these can one truly feel comfortable sharing the most intimate of details - Thrifty you are superb. And so kind to think of your colleagues...:T:T:T

Abundant - How did the work thing go? Its hard when a cool refreshing beverage is what you need at the end of the day.. but I think you can remain strong!!! You are right that stopping to think about what we have - the fact that I can go out and get overtime in the first place on a cold wintry day should be appreciated.. that we have out health and the basic... hey what more should we need. I would personally like to get RIGHT back to basics and be self sufficient... time will tell..

Speaking of which .. my Dad has bought 100 plants that will create a hedgerow to shield our field from the road - £240. And 12 trees, pears, apples, damsons and plums - more money. Makes me even more determined to pay off my debt as my poor Dad who works on his own in all weathers, with high blood pressure is buying things for our land...

So Onwards and Upwards I say....
“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent".

I'm ill today so am off work, but had a NSD which now makes 4! I've been placing presents in my amaz0n wishlist in preperation for purchase when I have a spend day. I'm getting realistic now and realising the money I have will simply not stretch for everything I have planned this month I don't think. So either I will have to break DDD or cancel some things. Neither of which I want to do!!!! Help!!

Bad news about the bike Kat. I would far rather be on the train in this horrible weather though! And look at all the extra time you'll have for MS plotting and scheming. Re: pasta shells, I hgave equally horrific microwaveable pasta twists that need eating bleugh!

Its all gone horribly wrong here however i now have zero money so hopefully i can get more than 1 NSD now. Feeling tired n down so gonna hit the hay and pray for a bigger brighter day with minimal temptation!x

I feel your pain :(L2B and I'm in a similar position after going away for the weekend, buying birthday presents and Christmas presents. Think my trigger to spend is when I'm emotionally upset and felt a bit like this at the weekend. I have got about £117 left (most of which I made on ebay last month, but it's better than increasing my OD) until I get paid again on the 21st. Rome, however, wasn't built in a day and I will dust myself down, pick myself up and start again!

Sorry to here that you've damaged your bike Kat, but well done on getting on the newsletter again! You should go into financial coaching - as you certainly motivate me and tonnes of others.

Think I've had a NSD today but have a streaming cold like Manc and did buy a packet of tissues today, but otherwise spent nothing.

Apart from that, good luck everyone and I'm hoping I can get back on track this week cos want to be much more austere in JAN/FEB/MAR/APRIL. Kind of can't wait to get cracking but feel like Christmas is getting in the way... Bah humbug! ;)

    Evening everyone:)

KAT - sorry to hear about your bike:( hope you are ok...

Went shopping, got everything I needed and filled up car. Took kids to their swimming lessons after school, and make a cracking pasta dish for dinner, have enough leftover for 2 more portions so that's dinner sorted for the next two nights:)

Now knackered and sitting in bed browsing net:)

Sorry I am late Ms NinjaKat, but could I join this month?
I like the front page of rules, especially the homeless person tea one :o
I am going to start from now with my spending diary, I have been so busy this week, today is my first day with a bit of free time. It is so nice to catch up with everything.
So, I am in it to win it. I have only pledged 10NSDs at the mo becasue I like getting the prizes on the NSD thread, I have been on it a long time and I did so well for me last month it was a shame not to reward myself with a firework prize :rotfl:
    Don't turn a slip up into a give up:D
