My item has not yet been returned but at least the nasty emails have stopped.

I am worried though that if item was sent back on Saturday it is a bit late- fingers crossed it arrives tomorrow.

The good news is that with the increased sales at the weekend and lots of feedback having been left today my percentages have gone up and I am in a better position to be able to retain my TRS even if I do get hit with low stars across the board.

When i needed my P&P percentages up - i cleared out a load of 99p items i had been putting off selling. No profit - but it did wonders for my stars. If it happened again, i would not hesitate to buy say a pack of 50 small items, split them up and sell then at cost, even a slight loss.

I used to wonder why big sellers often sold something you would not expect them to sell - at a ridiculously low price. Then i realised its just a feedback booster, and also helps reach selling quantity targets.

Just an update. Item has been returned and is obviously deliberately damaged (the damage is NOT accidental) . I have refunded everything now including return postage and have an email thanking me from the 'nice' partner . All I can do is wait and see if they leave feedback.

I would seriously not be happy, although i agree you want rid so have probably refunded for that reason i'd be tempted to kick up a fuss with ebay cs and tell them of the deliberate damage you never know it may help with feedback removal later.

I suppose you have the two options of accepting the cost or transferring it to Royal Mail, as damaged en route, which effectively is transferring the financial pain onto RM.

The answer is to get this kind of buyer off eBay. They've obviously 'got previous' which has required eBay to manually engage, so hopefully, over time, this buyer will be seen as a contributor to problems, rather than a contributor to profits and will at some point have their account closed... but maybe I'm being overly optimistic :)

I suspect this buyer is already known to eBay and I have noticed they have no current bids in, which is unusual as they are fairly regular buyers.

I've been selling on eBay for about 13 years now and on other sites for a few years before that, and this is only the 2nd time I am aware that I have been deliberately scammed. It can only be that the seller was hoping for a partial refund and when I would not co operate decided to destroy item in a fit of temper.

I have to assume that they have a miserable nasty little existence that makes them feel inadequate, so I will continue making a nice bit f money, have lovely holidays and a good lifestyle and I will pity them.

That would be a reasonable assumption - though rather than you pity them, I'd prefer eBay to 'fire them'! :)
