Ive just had the rudest and vilest email ever from a buyer, it is actually so unpleasant that I don't want to even cut and paste it here as it means I will have to read it again. The problem is buyer bought more that one item from me in separate transactions So their threat to ensure I 'never sell a thing again' could well be an issue.
Basic gist is they believe one of the items they have is not what was photographed (it is), damage was not mentioned (it was) and I am a misleading scumbag of a filthy seller who deserves to lose their business immediately.
They want full refunds on everything and mention having thrown one of the items away in disgust (hmm, so no chance of getting that back then).
I think they have stayed just within the bounds of not using feedback extortion, threatening to ensure I never trade again might not be the same as threatening a neg if I don't refund them for the lot in full.
I have responded with the usual 'return everything you don't want for a full refund' although I might not have done Myself any favours by ending up saying I thought both his assessment of my items was wrong and his used language unprofessional but as I pride myself on my reputation I will of course refund anything, including return postage as soon as I have his unwanted items back.
I am actually so shaken I am quite resigned to just losing my TRS and PS status and just not bothering much anymore.
I will phone eBay tomorrow as I would cry if I phoned them now and embarrass myself

Ebay will act on something like that, try not to take it too personal or get too upset. There are some awful people around and they think they can intimidate people behind a screen. Hope you are ok

Agree don't take it personally, you've got to remember that there are a few people out there who are a sandwich short of a picnic.;)0

It's daft really, I do get some odd mails (as I'm sure we all do) moaning about this or that , but this is just nasty. I pride myself on my photos and descriptions and have even had emails and feedback saying my goods are better than they expected. he bought from my collectible range, so not new but well photographed and with plenty of description .
I suspect that although this is a low feedback user they know how it works. If they stagger bad feedback and stars over a few weeks they really can almost destroy me- whether eBay will help or not I just don't know. The email whilst vile is worded carefully, perhaps intentionally , so I think I might not be able to prove categorically that it is feedback extortion.
I suppose it will all depend on whether he / she has really thrown away one of the items in disgust and will not be able to return them.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Wait until the morning and then speak to Ebay then and dont speak on the expensive line number either. List all your points prior to the call to keep you calm and focussed and remember all your positive feedback which will give you a deserved boost. You are always a support to others on this forum so glad we can return the favour. Dont let the bu**ers grind you down. Paste and copy the offending email or better still get a friend to do it for you so that Ebay have evidence of their nastiness.0

I think it's a day for awful people to crawl out of their holes.
I've worked in customer service for many years and today I have been unfortunate to meet some of the vilest people I have ever encountered.
Chin up. He may just be full of idle threats.0 -
Thank you everyone, I am going to logout of eBay and deal with it tomorrow.
I had such a good day today as well (one of my sons had his Masters award ceremony) and I will not let some unpleasant buyer spoil it.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Soolin dont let it bother you I have also felt like that on ebay and its really not nice. Focus on your sons achievement and not the bitter buyer. Have a nice night.0

Soolin, these kind of characters don't suddenly become the way they are overnight and usually have a long trail of baggage on their account.
Before you ring eBay, have a look at their previous feedback - and, just as importantly - their previous feedback left for others. If there is a trend of problems (which there usually is with aggressive opportunists), it may help to highlight this to eBay.
A definite trend of regular, similar issues with multiple sellers may help throw weight behind your case. I'd certainly like to think eBay values honest sellers more than rogue buyers... but I sometimes wonder!"The secret of life is honesty and fair dealing.
...If you can fake that, you've got it made."

Sorry to hear about the abuse, Soolin, no-one deserves that sort of behaviour. Must have been one of those days, as someone has said - we had all sorts of abuse from the water company and a builder today!0
-
Soolin we have all had them. As you know, i often have a dig at Ebay - and you have often defended them. But my anger with them is exactly in situations like this.
I believe your a good seller - but more improtantly - Ebay know you are. So we should not have to worry about individual buyers making our lives hell - but we do. Thats because Ebay have created an environment where one or 2 buyers can mess up a business and damage a seller. That is just plain wrong.
I agree you should leave it till another day now. I learnt that trick a while ago. Things are rarely best dealt with in the heat of the moment.
Have a good nights sleep, and i am sure it won't seem as bad tomorrow. I've stopped letting buyers blackmail me (although i will still do anything i can if its my fault). I seem to get less hassle, since i've taken a step back (in some part due to discussions on here). There are more important things on our lives than the few low-lifes we come across on Ebay. And we all know - most people on Ebay are decent - just like us.
Take Care!
