Bloody hell, if it's got to such an experienced ebayer/mse'r as you so much it must have been horrendous.

Sort it out with ebay, forget about the !!! that's done it - there are, unfortunately, some horrible people in this world, fortunately they are few and far between though.

don't let this load of twaddle spoil your great day - put all of it out of your head and enjoy what's good in your life.

    Thank you again.

I have not re read the email (it really is that bad) but I have calculated just how much harm staggered negs and poor stars could do me, and whilst it could be enough to lose me my TRS it would be only until Feb anyway when my existing poor stars fall off. Frankly I can live with that, I thought it was going to be much worse but sales have been quite good recently and so the percentage of low stars I am allowed has gone up.I also think on reflection that he/she won't be foolish enough to leave more than a couple of negs as it will look bad on their feedback left for others , but I am sure my stars will be hammered.

I have also received 3 feedback this evening , all very positive and saying things like 'great seller' and lovely item so I can't be that bad.....

I have looked at their feedback left for others, approx 40 feedback left of which 3 are negs and 2 neutrals

Don't forget the new 'report a buyer' feature.

There also used to be a rule about feedback, where if the same buyer left you more than say two negs - no matter how many they bought - then you could report it as targetted.

I'm sure i don't need to tell you not take it sitting down.

Tech spec thank you, I had forgotten that- i'll get on to that tomorrow as this 'has' to be abusive and eBay hopefully will protect my account (I won't hold my breath though).

I think with the negs as long as they leave a full 7 days between them then they count, he seems quite sure he has enough power to ruin me and unless he plans to buy via different accounts ( and that can be picked up) I can't see what else he plans.

I did speak to a Colleague briefly by email ( and send her the email without re reading it myself) and she think this sounds more like a threat designed to frighten me into refunding without insisting on a return- she seems to think the fact that buyer says the item has been binned is proof he will not be returning anything.

  • They probably do it to everyone.

I had a bloke tell me this week that he would only buy if he could come round my house and choose the items he wanted to buy.

    Yeah, right. *blocked
If you haven't got it - please don't flaunt it. TIA.

Soolin I'm sorry that you are upset as you are always so very helpful to everyone else on this board and give such good advice.

He sounds like a really nasty piece of work probably and is just trying to get the items for free. I sometimes check feedback from sellers before I buy and it's usually clear to see that sometimes a buyer will just try to dong someones excellent feedback out of pure spite. It wouldn't put me off buying though as you can tell if a seller is good by the other feedback.

Could it be someone selling similar items to yourself, probably using a different account I wonder?

Please don't let it spoil your weekend. He's just a bully!

A few things come to mind.

You know to much about Ebay & you are worrying unnecessarily...
The guy is probably just a nutter.

Also,Is it possible someone on the forum may have worked out who you are & have a grudge against you?.

I have to say that had occured to me and I alluded to something a couple of weeks ago where I thought someone's message was letting me know that they 'knew who I was' and mentioned having the power to spoilt things.

Anyway I did get up early this morning as my friend was going to be online and we ran through a few possibilites (including the one that this is revenge for my views on here). I think the most likely is that he has a mental condition and does not know how to relate to people. The tone is not a normal email that you would expect from soneone with an education (and the spelling and grammer is good). There are still some bits of it though that are so vile I cannot bring myself to read them again and have no idea how I am going to read this to ebay when I phone.

The one thing I can see now that I have glanced at it again is that there is a specific threat that unless he gets an immediate and full repayment he will leave poor feedback and destroy my business and he will also instruct all his friends and relatives to buy from me and do the same.

That has to be feedback extortion doesn't it? Although no doubt ebay will just tell me to work this through with my buyer and offer a full refund 'blah blah blah' as buyers are alowed to leave any feedback they fel represents the transaction. I'm going to try them at 9 o clock

  • It does sound like feedback extortion. Get onto Ebay, there is no way you should have to put up with this.

I had a message from Ebay today saying that they have removed a 1* for item as described from my account :T

However, they still won't do anything about the 9 3* from a buyer who is a competitor and went on to resell the items and describe them as in excellent condition

Good luck, I'm sure Ebay will see sense
You're only young once, but you can be immature forever :D

I have spoken to Ireland (got through in less than 10 seconds!) and they say the message is not in line with their policies and they have noted my complaint and should I receive anything further or poor feedback to speak to them again.

They agree I can do no more than offer a full refund (including return postage) on the item. Lovely woman I spoke to said to ignore the email and not read it again as anyone in CS can see I have no customer issues at all with my account .
